Meh too clubby.

Funnily enough I thought the same thing. Something like 'Four Tet goes to the disco' then side 2 just seemed to go special places. Not your average disco.

On now, in the sun on headphones and it's sounds fucking grrrrreat!!! Side one just as good imo. I might start dancing in a minute 😂

This is my dance album of the year for sure. Nailed the right balance for me. Afflecks palace is my current favorite, but everything on here is great, was already pretty familiar with the 4 singles that came out, and vocoder was a single a couple years ago. Wish I would have waited for the album to listen to those.

listened to it. enjoyed it. forgot about it

can we talk about that album with pharaoh sanders for a second lol. it's become quintessential /mu core that the box-ticking, "i do in fact have the best taste" losers wont shut the fuck up about.

it's so hilarious average to anyone who's spent any time listening to jazz. and when i say jazz i mean actual jazz not what we call jazz now which is often formless noodling

I've listened to it three times, two of those three times were to double check that I was listening to the same thing that everyone was raving about. I'm still not sure if dreamed all of this. It remains a mystery to me why everyone went bonkers over it. I might go check again and pinch myself while listening.

It's a nice album but it's basically 46 minutes of noodling with almost no variation. I never make it through a full listen. I listen to Jazz quite a lot. This isn't really Jazz in my opinion.

Cascade was amazing live, for home listening maybe sometimes too clubby/cheesy (that Moroder track lol) great for a long drive though.

Wasn't really into promises the first time but it came up on shuffle without me knowing what it was and I really dug it then. But those "electronic musician + symphony orchestra" albums are always so typical. Lot of wasted potential.
