Autechre mixes on BBC Radio 6

Recommended Posts

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah i forgot about tonight's mix. only 13 minutes left and i tuned in to hear Slugabed's "MMIILLKK S280F Mix", seriously banging to this.

BBC gives us all the track IDs, which is perfect. is anyone thinking of putting together a playlist? (sry if it was already mentioned, this thread is huge)

Check out Sunken Foal, Ambulance and Press Charges too, Dunk is a genius

He released stuff on Planet Mu and Front End Synthetics and on his his own label Countersunk, he's top notch

my girlfriend showed up while i was listening to this and i had to stop the mix and eat pizza with her.

wondering if i should break up with her for this.

I'm hoping Rob plays my new album in its entirety tonight 😁

I hope rob interrupts the mix to talk about bladelores and stereo widening secrets 🤡

srsly though, these mixes are dope. It’s nice to hear their selections. Looking forward to two more.

yeah it was a weird mix tonight, but in a very good way. i kept thinking this one maybe doesn't immediately hit as hard as the previous nights' mixes but might be more revealing and welcoming on relistens.

anyone know what version of

Asher D & Daddy Freddy, Asher D & Daddy Freddy

Raggamuffin Hip-Hop

No, but don't speak to her until the new year and don't tell her why.

This?

These are airing during my last hour at work so I haven't been able to listen live yet, but I'm excited to see the track lists, hopefully recordings of the full sets will go online soon. I love that they're highlighting so much contemporary material.

I just fucking love how prolific they are. There's always the idea that these experimental auteur artists are all hermits who have to hide away from the world and labor in silence for years to make works that are so special and I love how much they've come to embody the total opposite of that: touring constantly, releasing tons of material, regular DJ sets, chatting with fans. And still maintaining such an impossibly high standard of quality.
