ART2CD on eBay!

Starting at $10US with NR!

BRAND NEW< NEVER OPENED!

Someone hop on this...

I would but I already own it.

;)

Gentlemen start your biddings !

The last mint copy I saw on ebay went for 450 Dollars, what will it be this time ?

I got my copy for 70 Dollars a few years back

I paid 122 GBP for my copy, it was truly mint though. Some guy had bought 2 new copies from Virgin CD store that was closing or something, got them at normal price too!! Lucky bastard, then he made a mint.

Also paid 60 GBP for GAK CD, 58.87 GBP for Powerpill CD 55 GBP for Digeridoo CD ... Now that I think about it; ouch, them are some expensive discs

I think I paid 75GBP for powerpill, that was painful but I got both GAK and Digeridoo for 20 something GBP so that evens it out a little ;)

Sold for $276.51

There's got to be some sort of EKTer who'd be prepared to take on that challenge. Surely there's got to be someone you know with a Minidisc player who can transfer to WAV? It doesn't sound like it would be very hard to do.

The key here is trust... since I can't copy the MD before I send it out. I've been contacted though by some old friends, so I think I might have a solution.

u can convert them in wave... u must connected ur MD reader in computer & record these tracks but don't know which software we can do it... i'll ask a friend who did it...

otherwise if u have a hi-fi with USB key, u can record these tracks also with...

The issue here is having a Optical Digital IN on a computer - my iMac only has DO OUT, so it's not possible. The goal is to have a perfect digital copy of the MD to work from so whomever I get to remaster and clean up the tracks will have the best source possible to work with.

yea, PC is the way to go;

Sony Mini-Disc player to PC, record in Nuendo -> clean WAVE copy

I did this with an old Beastie Boys MD I had from way back in the day, back when I thought MD was cool...

i've got a hi-md which can copy from minidisc losslessly (WAV) via USB on the computer... no need for an optical-in on the computer then.

can u plz post some kinda link for whatever u got

There are others on that page... I paid around 200 for my MD, and it only does DO out... but that was almost 10 years ago...

Daft.

assuming the MD can be transferred in losslessly via USB, why not ship the MD player to rex instead? one certainly can be replaced if it gets lost in the postal. then again at 200$ i suppose i wouldnt blame you for not shipping it, if you actually still use that archaic metal box.

Rephlex did with the Analord Binders.

Couldn't Joyrex just upload it in whatever format he's able to? Does it really have to be .WAV?

I wouldn't expect ieafs to risk his much more expensive MD via international mail. That's just silly. That being said, I do worry about losing the MD, but probably much less chance of that being lost.

The whole reason for the pure digital conversion was to get the best quality copy possible to give whomever remasters it the best working version possible. Considering however that the source was originally a cassette tape, and it almost certainly was transferred to MD via an analogue means, does it matter (other than creating a 2nd generation copy) if it's transferred non-digitally from MD? would a 3rd gen really be that much worse from a restoration point of view?

theres no point in NOT getting the best copy possible. an extra analog stage adds more degradation.
