BOC Tracks You Hate?

Zeotrope.

I would've said this one as well but a couple of months ago, all of a sudden, I appreciated this track. And now I think it's really cool! So minimal, so lovely.

It must have something to do with the setting when I heard it at that time -- it was in our youth house at our lounge night; everything was nicely decorated -- warm and cosy, nice tunes on the background, some good ol' weed. I was relaxing in one of the seats when all of a sudden zoetrope started playing and it was damn nice. Ever since I love this track -- it's kinda connected now to that memory which makes it a bit special, mkay...

Ontopic: Another one I would have said long time ago would be gyroscope... but I can't help but liking it nowadays just because it's kinda unsettling...

never really liked that track, unlike the rest of that cd. Just a plain, average, nothin-special track.

its for zoning out man. you dont get amped and go shredding while listening to that tune [though i really enjoy that track when it comes on and im riding the lift up at sunshine village]

Hmmm, I don't think I would get "amped" or go "shredding" to any of BoC's tracks. Nor would I say "shredding", but I might say "amped" occasionally, but only for humor.

Yeah, I agree. It's strange because it seems like it should be dynamic - they put effort into the drums, and the production - but it's just dull. Compared to something like June 9th, which has all these strange synth sounds that seem like they shouldn't work together, but ultimately do. That's old vs. new BoC to me; the old stuff had the magic "x factor" in spades, while the new stuff is better technically but has the "x factor" only intermittently.

I think Heard from Telegraph Lines is the standout track on TCH EP.

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

I can't belive Skyliner was mentioned. This track is probably one of their best, if not THE best. The most inspirational song Ive ever heard, passing up Macquaire Ridge. That sound at 1:02, 1:58, 3:16 - bloody brilliant. Listen again and if you still dont get it...you should stop listening to BoC beacuse you obviously aren't ready.

i hear the sound yes, it's lovely. but the track... too brooding i find and it really isn't the direction i want to see boards going. i will agree with you that macquarie ridge is beautiful though, it tis. just kinda a cold sounding track Skyliner is. someone made the connection on here before that it sounds very "glacier" or something. i couldn't agree more. i like campfire so much more than this ep. i love what they are doing with guitars nowadays and look forward to more happier BoC sounds and less melancholic sounds. I guess my musical tastes are changing a bit. :boc::happy:

I cant believe people are hating on Amo Bishop Roden and Zeotrope. Two of my favourite tracks.

Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Skyliner is dense and chewy and it tries hard, but it isn't, you know, pleasurable. I just don't like listening to it.

While I don't quite think Skyliner is one of their best, I do like it. I appreciate the frantic, desperate mood it conveys, and the hi-hat sample used in that track has got to be the best hi-hat sample EVER.

I dislike Smokes Quantity, One Very Important Thought, most of the short tracks on Geogaddi, Nlogax, Nova Scotia Robots, Niagara, Skimming Stones, and about half of the "old tunes".

Guest Raddcliff

you guys are funny...the BoC are damned if they do and damned if they don't. try to diversify > they suck, stay the same to appease > they suck. pit falls of hitting so hard with the first release i guess.

to me all the albums are just as good in diff ways and suit diff moods.

funny funny people.

Yeah, I'd have to agree as I don't tend to go straight from listening to one album/EP to another. And although there are a couple of tracks that irk me, I can't say that there are any actual releases that I dislike at all. Each and every one is right up there amongst my absolute faves.

Gyroscope- I find the drums/percussion really annoying. It's the only track of theirs I skip nearly every time...

Can't believe so many ppl strive towards putting things to its extreme, labeling shit, instead of just letting it be and let it take effect on whoever is exposed to it. -Feels like one shall keep in mind that without any lows there can't be highs.

As I see BoC as representatives for life itself, I try not to bother which track is the most outstanding one, when we all know that the "best track ever" only is "the best" when listened to...

Among all others, some examples of BoC-moments imo are;

*the way one of the "carcan"versions fit extremely nice with Nlogax.

*the sub-melody-add in kid for today @ 05:23

*the evolving melody in see ya later beginning @ 01:12

*the bass/rythm of left side drive.
