YEK
oh so i have been doing reading and stuff and the mpc 2000xl goes for the same price as the 1000 used ... sure it's old technology, but a lot of great modern producers still use them which kinda leads to my question.... can i use it soley as a midi sequencer and hook up sound modules'/ groove boxes etc..... ??? . Not as fun as using samples but i'm wondering if i could record midi into the thing with a midi keyboard and with that... i'm out. Guest Dr. Elemeno von Hat X: PhD
okay, last few months i got really into the MPC. i got that odd japanese OS upgrade that lets you play pong, too. i love it. lots of fun. if i were gigging i'd likely bring the mpc instead of a computer. (very) occasional double-trigger of pads, but if i keep my fingers to the center of 'em it doesn't seem to happen, and most pads never do at all. what of it there has been, has been no impediment. Guest pantsonmyhead
the thang with the mpc the 2000/xl/4000 in particular is they have a very distinct sound that is in part due to the sound of the pre-amps in the input section and the master bus compressor they also have a pretty unique shuffling system they are neat and very capable machines max bpm is 300 and max quantize is 32nd not so keep that in mind not the best machine for heavy drill but a solid piece of machinery Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/13755-is-mpc-only-great-for-hip-hop/page/3/#findComment-448436 Share on other sites
