Liked it a lot. Do you have any musical training or are you purely a self taught knob twiddler? I ask 'cause the harmonic structures sounded interesting to me. No obvious progressions, to my ears at least.

I'm downloading Dusks and Dawns now.

cool, glad someone felt interested at the point of downloading some more :) self taught knob twiddler, self taught (bad) guitar player. i try to keep a logic in my melodies but in a way that challenges my abilities. i listen to very much classical (fan of roland dyens & frédéric chopin), jazz, brazilian music, i guess that influences me most.

if you wanna hear some recent stuff in progress check http://wondermp3s.free.fr/works_in_progress/ , especially tracks

glad you liked it - don't hesitate to feed back some more, criticism appreciated!

I'm just getting round to listening to some of your in-progress tracks now Yan but I've been listening to "4 songs of dusks and dawns" quite a bit over the last couple of weeks. One thing I've noticed is that you don't play all your cards at once, you really know how to build gradually to an emotional epiphany.

WIP

I find the sine waves to be a bit loud and harsh at the start but it ceases to be a problem once the pads come in. I like how the beat swings back and forth with the reverse hits, some ride cymbal might be good for that too.

Butterfly Bass

The snippets of guitar were cool, I'd like to hear more of them. I'm finding the sines a bit harsh when on their own again, the lo-bit melody which comes in near the end combines with them well though.

I'll check some more out later.

thx for coming back! really appreciate that!

i tag WIP all my works in progress, so i don't really know what track you're talking about... if you tell me the size of the file or the length i should be able to identify it... is that the one with only sines at the beginning then some other synths, and then the beat, quite late then some pluck melody? that sounds sortof classical in the begining and more jazzish in the end? cheers for reviewing anyway, interesting feedback :)
