Wonkytardstep is the next cheddar cheese...

I like some Hudson Mohawke, flying lotus, zomby, and other chip stuff. No need to be mean about it....

I heart Rustie as well, much more than the Mohawke....HudMo = first music in years that I feel like I don't really get...I mean I do when he is not trying to make the wonkiest beat ever, but when he is in super wonky mode, I would rather listen to Autechre, post Confield, which makes more sense to me....

and congrats again for getting your music out and about, will def listen!

Hudson's Heeters I found pretty accessible.. even more so if you're versed in Dilla, Fly Lo, etc. Not heard the new one yet, but heard it's a bit more out there. Can't wait!

Guest ezkerraldean

had my first proper dubstep experience last night with Kontakt in Leicester. didn't really like it. he played a fair bit of breakbeaty shit though, which i did dig.

suppose it didn't help that the floor was vibrating to a different tune to what Kontakt was playing due to world-class dubster Aba Shanti I being downstairs with his hench soundsystem. he's fucking awesome.

also loads of hipsters there who didn't know the difference between dubstep and dub. i hate them.

Funny video Kaini....

so, AW, where did you come up with that idea or do you just think it is dead....

that's fine, I personally think it could be on its way out, ushering in the new golden era of idm but we all have our opinions...

there are four crews here in Austin, all doing pretty well on the nights they throw dubstep shows....

Kode 9 did tell me that house or bassline was bigger than dubstep ever dreamed of being in the UK, he and Martyn both spun a lot of 4/4 stuff....but they still played some killer DS tracks of their own

Pinch didn't seem to think so, but he owns Tectonic so he has to have faith in it, he and N-Type threw down some hard ass DS at the show I went to...

who knows?

but that track you put up sounds like bad Joker.... :music:

Funny because I've heard Joker play Maniac in a couple sets so he's obviously a fan.

yes, this thread is going to annoy the hell out of a lot of you elitist freaks, so here it goes!

industrial music....

dub music........

Basslines that make the weak-willed faint........

innovated by the drummer from Napalm Death........

the tracks 'Angels' by Vex'd and Toasty Boy....two amazing yet completely different tracks with the same name.........

Sin City being the most sampled film ever in one genre......

these are some of my favorite things about this music.....

and listening to it really loud!

Don't be a hater, smoke a reefer and jam out with me......

Man.......

Guy.......

listen to Rob 7 by Darqwan, Gary's Gruesome Grime Mix by µZiq, and Desperate Measures by Search and Destroy, and if you still don't dig it, and can't see that it has almost as much variety as 'electronic music', then be a hater.........

but I'll be goddamned if I don't love me some fuckin' bassed out dubstep!

Dubstep is a wet dream for me. It represents my wishes for music's more

like when i would play 45' on 33' or play jungle on half-speed.

...or more like scorn. scorn is the only thing that can satisfy me at some points

when it came to low end bass damage.

pole records were next for me. i played them at 33'. the red and blue album just plain

sound better at 33'. the emotion, the bass and the time to really meditate on

every crackle and hiss.

there is of course good dubstep and bad dubstep (and all the offshoots wew...what an influential subgenera)
