I was sitting in the forest meditating with my beads and drinking tea when I suddenly heard a sound coming from the distance. I tried to look out further to see what it was but there were only shadows in the trees. Suddenly hippies popped out from all directions and started circling me. As i freaked out they came toward me menacingly. They stopped when they were about 3 ft away from me and started to dance in a circle around me.

One of them whipped out a flute and started playing some beautiful intoxicating music. It became what i've come to know as the first notes of Wildlife analysis. That calmed me down and i was like, "WHAT IS THAT? I MUST KNOW!"

The flute player stopped playing and the rest of the hippies stopped circling around me. They all turned to my direction and said... Boards of Canada.

i listened to a beautiful place out in the country in a recordstore at the wrong speed 33rpm and was instantly fascinated

i also really liked the unusual colour of the ep

during the fist time boc was my little secret but then i started to share with friends who became also hocked

still today i prefer to listen to abpoitc at 33rpm

it was saland findles that got me into BOC. I thought it was cool and creepy so I went out and bought Geogaddi, which will always be my favorite album. When it comes to buying other BoC albums, I've always had a bad disposition to them because they are not threatening enough.

I believe the first BOC track that I heard was "Aquarius" which led me to check out the MHTRTC album and the rest is history. I was hooked!

i heard Sixtyten on the radio. by that time i was already quite obsessed with Autechre and it sounded a bit like them to my ears so i got interested but couldn't find anything by BoC in the local music shops. then, next week on the same radio show, they played Aquarius. and that hooked me on BoC forever.

It was 1997 & I was in Atlas records, Soho. Listening to MHTRTC. I didn't actually buy it first time because I didn't think it was that good! Then I read a review of the album in a magazine & remembered it as being something I'd listened to earlier in the record shop. It sounded really good from the review so I gave it another go & a proper listen (as opposed to just flicking through tracks as I did previously) the next time I was to Atlas records. This time I realised what a twat I'd been for not buying this the first time & when I got to Roygbiv I nearly shat myself! I was very excited by the album & played it several times the first day. I was hooked. It was the first album that I had ever truly enjoyed every second of from start to finish. Best album I'd ever heard by a mile. I reckon it still is.

For a long time I thought it was meant to be played at 33rpm & I did so. This was partly due to the fact that Zeotrope sounded completely wrong at 45. Listen to it at 33 though & it sounds spot on. Next to MHTRTC I think this is BoC's best release. Fantastic EP.

I was watching to Monkey Dust (a depressing satirical cartoon) when Turquoise Hexagon Sun came on. Words could not describe this mood, but I had no idea it was BoC until I got MHTRTC. I was excited at the prospect of listening to a track with such a weird name, and boy if I wasn't in for a suprise...

i was on redpoint beach in scotland, it was late, dark and cold. a small campfire had caught my eye. i could hear intriging music playing. i got closer and soon realized that no one was there except for a cassette player, playing this music. "OI WHA THE FUCK AR YA DOIN, YA CUNT!'said a tiny sea crap on the icerink maven

Long long ago in the days of FTP file sharing I had heard from a friend that if I liked Aphex Twin I'd also like Boards of Canada. I downloaded 1 track by BOC, not even sure which, and decided I didn't them at all. Few years later someone played Twosim for me and since then I've been hooked. Makes me wonder how many other artists I've completely written off because I heard 1 or 2 tracks I didn't like first.

I bought their first album when it was on skam. Was hooked ever since.

Where abouts is Redpoint Beach? I love the way Boc make references to landscapes in their tracks reminiscent of Eno and Harold Budd et al.
