Squee
A couple of months ago I thought it was fantastic when a DJ played me and my friend's Maskine tracks at chill-out parties, but things have really escalated lately. First of all, we've been contacted by a new danish electronica record label, called Art Rebels Label, which means we'll be releasing stuff on the same label as for instance Trentemøller, Mike Sheridan, Don't Feed The Monkey etc., and then we've been told to play at a gallery where the Queen of Denmark will show up, and last night we were asked if we could send some tracks to this guy because he may consider us in the line up of a couple of chill out artists at Denmark's biggest chillout festival. Things have gone crazy lately. I can't appraise the overall situation Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide all signatures Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/18986-how-serious-are-you/page/2/#findComment-389711 Share on other sites
ishishiba
wow, squee! that all sounds amazing. i really digged the maskine tracks at your myspace. as for me, i just love making sounds for the sheer creative satisfaction i get from it. i'll never make money from it, but will continue to do net/cdr releases just to put it out there. Squee
Seriously, I don't know what to do? I've never played live before, but I've just bought a Kaoss Pad in case we actually get to play in front of the Queen. I'm not a royalist, but it would be pretty damn fun to play in front of her :) And thanks for the kind words! Ditto! That's a good frame of mind regardless if you're going to sell your music or not. posture
I don't devote myself as much as I should. I blame the internet and video games. But my goal is to have people listen to my music and hopefully enjoy what I make. I'd make you a website and stuff, and I'd put a paypal system on there so people can pay for the downloaded tracks. Anyway, you could do the website yourself too. Guest Coalbucket PI
Thanks for the offer dood! but its not really about the money, and im hardly a self publicist either. I suppose its more about having a CD made up and in a shop so I can put on my CV that I'm a published musician when applying for more depressing sources of income, or so my grandkids can say 'you know my granddad, that guy over there in the wheelchair soiling himself, he once released some tunes and a couple of people paid for it.' Does that actually work though, do people pay for music by nobodies?
