Firstly, I think this song is awesome. I remember a while ago reading somewhere that the pseudoscratching on this track is a sample of Kool Keith saying "jam like Autechre." True or bullshit? If true, on what Kool Keith track does he name drop Autechre?

True, it's from a Dr. Octagon track called "On Production"

Kook Keith did a shoe signing at one of my stores and (me being the huge Ae fan...) i asked him about this.. and he said "yeah, Autechre the techno group, i know that shit, i said it, yeah.."

He said that while counting a wad of money, he counted this wad of money over and over again the 45 minutes him and his friends were in the store. He also hit on my sister and asked her to come to LA with him and that he'd give her a ride down there if she went right then. Basically he IS the weirdo everybody thinks he is.

This song kills me. The intro is one of the few pieces of music that can make me smile no matter what. I love the metallic whiplash of "jam like a tekker". And the ending chords are so sad. The classic minor Ae bassline.

This era of ae is probably the era that influences me most in my music making. The extremely repetitive and slowly evolving layered patterns.
