What the label says:

Confederation Trough’ EP is the debut single of new Rephlex signing The Tuss aka Brian Tregaskin, a musician

discovered via intensive MySpace exploration by the A&R dept.

Apparently touted by labels such as XL and Ninja, The Tuss’s official line seems inspired by the time FFRR signed

Chicago house legend Lil Louis’ smash hit ‘French Kiss’, even tho they had no information about him at all at the time!

The EP features 4 tracks across 2 formats (just 3 tracks on each tho), featuring a unique blend of head music and dance vibes, everything from acid / house / techno / industrial to pastoral and folk influences.

that same press release has now been posted in this thread about 4 times.

i thought everyone knew that 'Brian Tregaskin' was an anagram of 'bank ears tiring' - referring to aphex twin's studio and how he is affected by tinnitus from clapping maniacally in the vault to get that reverb

I do know what equipment Aphex uses because I know his email address and read his posts on music gear forums. ;p You guys never read his conversation on the planet-mu forum? About his disdain for VST's? The link is on the wiki site for analord. He has a lot of money and a taste for expensive gear and he's not afraid to spend it.

i did, and it was a rant from the mouth of an audiophile gone way off the deep end.

it wouldnt surprise me at all if the next drunken aphex rant was about how you must only listen to 400gram virgin vinyl with diamond needles to get the full effect of his music.

i love aphex just as much as the next person here, i just rather him get back to focusing on the music rather than the tools he uses. I frankly liked his music more when he was using VSts and software synths. i like his analog stuff too, but id prefer if it wasnt his primary focus.

I agree. Sure, it's nice to know the means of which his music was made, but the music matters as well.

yeah probably, as far as i can tell it seems as though only the record stores themselves have 'promo' copies.

No, mine have shipped as well. They ship a bit before release so you get them around the release date. Just postal roulette after that.
