squarepusher Squarepusher. Saturday night

Im surprised more people arnt getting excited about SP playing London on Saturday night, hes only done one non festival gig all year and that was a short 40 mins set. I got my ticket today, my single ticket because I cant get anyone else to go with. So if you see a slightly balding middle aged man on his own, stop and have a chat and a drink to get me through the Shut Up and Dance set. After Glade last week im so looking forward to this.

I am definitely excited and suprised at the lack of enthusiam on this forum, his Glade set was awesome and there's barely been a mention of it. I hope the other acts at this night aren't too disappointing! I'm also gobsmacked this event took so long to sell out, the opportunity to see Tom play in such an intimate venue is a fucking treat!

Shame it isnt in Wangs old venue on Hackney road, that was cool as, had the feel of a house party.

Fucking incredible set, tropical climate, wicked rave up. Squarepusher dj'ed for an hour then played for an hour and a half. It was immense! I really hope a recording of it turns up.

This thread should be closed to all discussion until a recording is made available. I think that's the only fair thing to do.

Couldnt tell you how many times ive seen SP, but this was far and away the best. Sometimes he can be a awkward cunt, but this time he came through everytime and in a room about twice the size of my living room. It really was just too good.

did he play a load of old school hardcore and acid like he did @ Glade?

Pretty much the same set, except it went on for quite a bit longer. It was the intimacy of the venue that made it better than Glade and there was less bystanders. Im still a bit deaf from Exciton :wink2:

There was a lot of cameras about so some of it will probably be on the glade dvd.

More like a 3 hour + set by my reckoning, fucking unbelievable, was wanting somewhere to rant about this set and never thought to check the subforums... Played tunes from most of his albums including feed me weird things which I haven't heard him do before, I was literally drenched, just got back from SE Asia which I thought was the hottest I'd ever be but I was wrong. Didnt play tetra sync though.. cunt

still best set I've seen him to apart from Glade 05

The set I'd been waiting for, wish I could remember it better. A serious adrenaline work out!

I was completely soaked through within five minutes of being in the room, in my brothers photo's it looks like we all stood under a shower with all our clothes on.

I wouldn't be suprised if it was over 3 hours, I was basing my time on the playlist. During his DJ set I was getting worried about how much he was eating in to his playing time and I still wanted more at the end of his live set.

I spend my life in relative inactivity then think I can dance for hours, on the plus side between that Glade, acid on sea, Bangface and the next wang i'll be at my fighting weight for months.

Ah yes, the MDMA workout, can't beat it ;)

Probably one of the best nights out in a long time. Great to see Squarepusher in a venue like that, doubt he's played a gig that intimate in a long time. Nice build up with the DJ set at the beginning, just at the point when I was thinking it was getting a bit dry, that fat six string reared its head over the decks. I dont need to expand on what happened next. Dizzying sub tropical climate.
