i work in a sandwich shop... people ask for sandwiches and I make them. I ask them if they want brown or white bread, for most people this is not a problem, but americans seem completely bamboozled by the prospect of such a question. they usually bark something like 'rye!' or 'wheat'... bare in mind the two types of bread are in plain view and i am pointing at them when I say 'brown or white bread?'
