the only two tracks worth remembering are queen b and track 4

Hmmm, I haven't heard the album yet, but i thought Queen B was possibly the worst track I've ever heard that Maynard had a hand in. If that's a highlight, I almost fear what the rest of the album is like. Not rushing out to buy this one.

I have been enjoying this album. Set my expectations very low, so I guess that's why I'm not disappointed. Even so it's not for everyone. Friends of mine that don't like MJK, tool, APC whatever, are liking this album. Friends that like that stuff aren't really feeling it so that kind of makes sense in correlation to the comments in here. Not my fav album of the year by far, but tis a fun listen.

Having said that, I think he should have gotten a different producer. Not really feeling the production but I like MJK's ideas. Then again the producer could've been tied down with MJK saying"yeah that sounds awesome just leave it like that", which isn't always a good thing. But he just wanted to have fun with it so more power to him.

Wasn't it that Charlie Clouser dude? His remix work is pretty incredible. I'm actually more interested in this album due to the fact that I think he produced it. But perhaps I'm mistaken. And even if I'm not, a good remixer does not a good producer make (necessarily).

No it wasn't clouser. If it was this thread would be different and most people would like it at least for his work on it. I cant remember who produced it, i shall return with the answer. I've read about it but I had not heard of him before.

The album was produced by "Mat Mitchell". Only thing I saw about him was he was part of a project called "Lustmord".

The full credits for the album--> Toolology 101

To me it's obvious the parts that were the concepts of songs, and performances by other musicians and then what the producer did. HE added all the little fills, did the overall programming, and i guess parts of arrangements. All of which are sub par and I think made the album a bit weak. Just my opinion. The mixing is nice, but he did not do that part.

I'm guessing since this was Maynard's "fun" album he wasn't too nit picky about the details.

ps

TooLOLogy heh blah
