No New Aphex

it is my contention that RDJ will not be releasing anything new for quite some time, as i think he is purposefully allowing the genre to stagnate. i believe he will take (is taking) a few years to develop a shitload of brand new craziness, which he will then turn loose on the salivating masses when everyone least expects it. just to pound home the fact that he fucking owns electronic music. this will then cause a shitstorm of activity - the system will be reinvigorated with wannabees, copycats and followers trying to cash in which will lead to counter-movements and eventually genre backlash, which he will probably cash in on as well.

and of course, richard will come out of it much wealthier in money and fame.

its a good plan, so let us discuss.

thats exactly what i was thinking. Im pretty sure it's been stagnated for a while. But you could be right about your theory over all. The Analord and Tuss projects could have just been some filler material he wanted to release so he could start from scratch. plus its not like he's an old fart he's not even 40.

Filler yes. well, we know that the tuss was at least 2yrs old right? i think someone mentioned it before, but to me the tuss seemed like firing an impulse into this dynamic system to get a feeling for what the response looks like. like he was trying to derive some sort of aphex transfer function without actually doing anything involving any of his known aliases. obviously the reason for all of the subterfuge. he wanted people to guess but not "know" as well i think to sort of gauge the "aphex effect" on the response...

a fairly talented one to be fair. not enough talent to justify the level of wishful bumming tho. see various other artists also.

i'd fight him.

see i tend to think he's got more talent than every other electronic artist combined but that's just my take on fact so whatever

well, im not in love with him but i do think that he is in a unique situation to manipulate and affect a certain amount of change in certain musical areas. personally i find that fascinating. what is even more fascinating is that it appears to me that he has realized this as well and is in fact experimenting with it.
