Recommend me some good ambient please

Recommended Posts

recently got into hakobune (samples) after picking up his split with david tagg on install. then proceeded to buy his entire discography.

highly recommended for fans of ambient / drone, stars of the lid, david tagg, ambient milieu, etc.

i also second Shuttle 358 and will say that if you like Tim Hecker you should

check out who laid most of the ground work for him, Zoviet France one of the most prolific and interesting

ambient groups of all time.

this is quite amazing peace of work, i like the track, and can't wait to attend a live show in saturday!

I enjoy the fragility of the rolling lol tbh. The broken lol is like our own mortality staring us in the face, reminding us to enjoy that sunset.

Quite.

Oöphoi - The Spirals of Time

Stars of the Lid - Carte de Visite

DJ Olive - Sleep

Brian Eno and Biosphere should be obvious and you might also like Martinez on the Traffic soundtrack. Of Harold Budd's output, I've liked best The Plateaux of Mirrors and his work with Robin Guthrie on the Mysterious Skin soundtrack.

if you like the sound of natural/dark ambient (think eno's ambient #4) - then i would definitely recommend steve roach

David Sylvian- Approaching Silence

This album is amazing. The Beekeeper's Apprentice is golden, I cannot believe how long I lived without it.
