i would say the padkontrols pads are a bit more sensitive, plus they can illuminate. The MPD just has an overall better build to it, it seems much more solid like you can pound the fuck out of it and all it will do is smile at you asking for more.

very rarely on my MPD it wont trigger pads but on the padkontol sometimes triggering one pad, if hit hard enough, would trigger pads around it. If you are spending $200 i'd go with the MPD24 but if you find a padkontol out there for cheap go for it.

Was leaning toward the MPD24 with its impressive look and reliable MPC pads, thanks for the insight.

I recently got one of these, it's nice to do melodies with it (seriously!) + I feel like Dr. Dre when I'm step-sequencing with it (big plus).

I gots the Akai MPD24.

Both have very good features, one has what the other doesn't.

i got a padkontrol a while ago. Seems nice, but ive never used it. Mostly because it doesnt really work the way i expected it to. What programs do you guys use it with?

one of the main reasons i wanted the padKontrol was for the x/y touch pad, but I was disappointed to learn recently that it doesn't allow you to disable the "spring" functionality, like I can on my Remote25. Still like it though.

i have 2 pad kontrols

i like them a great deal (the pads are probably the best on the go)

i have a trigger finger
