Salary for EKT...

Not sure if anyone would know this, but I have always wondered what the salary is like if you get a record contract, say with Warp or someone like that.

I know Aphex is a millionare now but what is the starting salary like, anybody know?

musicians on labels arent salaried employees. they make their money with upfront pay for their work, and then possibly residuals if the music is licensed for commercials or the album has made enough money to justify more money than was covered in the advance.

when i was signed to rephlex as P.P. Roy, i started on 8.5k with subsidised meals and a nissan micra.

after a couple of years my salary rose to 12k and my micra upgraded to a ford focus.

man, you got a better deal than me - i got 7k (pro rata) and a moped.

i hear you have to do a 4 year internship before you can even think about getting on their payroll. 20+ years to make partner. forget this business man.

I heard Vibert fired his agent, GWC couldn't even sit in the same room as the guy. Luke was looking for 4 year deal and his agent could only manage to get him a 3 year.

starting salary is 5 dollars a day across the board. even madonna and phil collins started at that wage and worked their way up.
