I think it's been a couple years since I listened to a sotl album all the way through. Will have to dig in over the next couple weeks.

Agreed. 'Gravitational Pull...' took me a while to get into because it is so raw and indistinct at times. After a while 'Cantus II' hit me hard (that moment around 13:20 when the repeated B comes in on the piano: so much emotional weight there) and the rest of the album eventually followed.

Refinement has been the peak for me. Tired Sounds being second. I haven't listened all that much to their earlier stuff yet even though I have it all.

Anxiously awaiting the new album though. I saw them back in May 2008 with two front row tickets given to me by a friend on Twoism, that was pretty awesome!

The ending strings towards the end of Requiem of Dying Mothers part 2 simply kills me. One of the best "moments" in any of their music.

i stopped listening to these guys for two years or so. not sure why. their best is up there with SAW vol 2 for me. essential music.

+1 for Tippy's Demise; may be my favorite piece of theirs.
