Autechre Time for the new shit

Well its been a year since Hello Everything an dits not like TJ has been touring that much. So any thoughts on what the next ones gonna be like? It's due soon!

- full length, live, EP?

- digital, acid, jazzy

I'd love another ultravisitor-style.... digital PLUS live bass

GP2 would be nice also.

I honestly don't give a fuck what he does so long as he does it.

Rotted One note type stuff would be cool with a digital edge, or some more Go Spastic esque superjungle would be wicked.

And a collaboration of any sort would be bloody well received aswell, maybe even with Jenkinson junior? Fingers crossed.

I would love an all acid squarepusher release. His acid pwns all. I am always so pissed when Snake Pass ends. Acid with some Ultravisitor tinge. The song not the album.

He's currently producing an album with Eno and Hancock, lol!

nah i dont think it was a hoax, ceephax was talking to a friend of mine as though it was all set to go ahead, but tom backed out at the last minute because he wasn't feeling it. theres a blog from some journalist somewhere on the net which talks about the day recording in question, along with photos of them all together.

The amazing thing about Squarepusher is he puts out albums that usually sound nothing like his previous work... So I don't want a GP2 or a Music Is Rotted One Note 2. We already have those albums. I'd like something that sounds new.

i just want something that doesn't suck.

Did you see it? There's a part where Hancock & Eno are making some "electronic" music and it's... it's pretty bad. That's probably why Tom wasn't feeling it.

Showtime shows it a lot, so if you've got that then you can probably catch it playing.

well, whatever your thought are about hancocks electro stuff, its for sure a million miles away from squarepushers. put the guy in front of a piano and gold is created but his electronica stuff seems to be purely playing with the 'new sound' of synths. All the stuff ive heard of him on synths is purely basic patches with his incredibly melodic fingers playing it.

I can certainly imagine squarepusher not being into that, i mean SP's about pushing the machines to their limit, whereas later HH is about pushing himself to the limit, with machines being the medium. considering the depth that SP goes into with programming synths, I can well imagine him thinking 'this isnt going to work' when faced with a guy playing with slightly filtered slightly portamentoed saw waves and not much else.

yeah, herbies GREAT but not in the same way, and I'd hasten to suspect an incompatible way, as SP. so it didnt surprise me when ceephax said that tom had pulled the plug, at least as far as his involvement.

as for eno, im not sure, who knows, but there are photos of the session and as yet we have nothing to listen to from it, with no new news on the subject, so unfortunatley it looks like its met a premature end...

yeah, i caught it... that's why i made the eno comment... tj and hancock doing jazz'n'bass would be grrrreat though.
