That tune from the Manchester Gig this month

Recommended Posts

If people care that much, there's plenty of footage out there that could be patched together to form a good facsimile of the show. It wouldn't be complete but it would be better than nothing.

The guy who posted that long vid doesn't have the full set either, but he has a fair amount of it.

Those visuals in that youtube video of AFX dropping this tune..

it had some cool visuals. Found the visuals through someone's youtube profile who was "VJing" that night:

skip to 1:46

This track is amazing. Very much on par with the best from Rushup Edge. I can only hope this sees a proper release.

I enjoy the fragility of the rolling lol tbh. The broken lol is like our own mortality staring us in the face, reminding us to enjoy that sunset.

Let's take heart from the fact that people used to post and beg for the release of what we now call Synthacon 9

Yes, we can all wait a couple of years for a quality recording/release

Maybe I should listen to more plaid, but as I was listening to this repeatedly yesterday I came to think of that long untitled last track of the warp 10th birthday gig (2000). it's 11mins something..

I really do think that the "chords" used in this song in general sound really bocish, and please hate on that yeah :P

Actually judging from this, boc and aphex oughta do collabs to some extent. Then again I'm afraid this tune kicks that boc live track's ass

at least you got that part right

well at least admit you wouldn't have guessed it would've been rdj if it had been completely unknown etc.

eg. that sample 01:01

(and yeah I should shoot meself for mentioning boc in here bla bla bla, end)

Too right this tune deserves it's own thread. Sounds very Aphex to me, but I can also see (and hear!) the BOC and Plaid comparisons! Anyways, whatever, it is genius! Love it, thanks for posting!

You can tell its richard for so many reasons if you listen to tuss a lot and the details which it has.

for example, it only happens once, but he adds a lot of hi hats before the next drum beat triggers, you can hear this at; 2.43 exactly.

rich has always been together with melody and variating it a lot... he's obviously been working more on this side recently and its so nice that he is.

also, i cant be sure, but it sounda like he's using a key out of C at 1.41, even if not, notice how the melody changes mood for a darker feel yet it still flowing perfectly with the one before, then switching back at 2.20, it's seamless and really quite nice.

Let's keep bumping the thread till the track gets released.

This track is like the Aphex version of Do You Know Squarepusher - it's like a smorgasbord of cool Aphexisms
