Not everyone can afford a $1,400 (est.) keyboard, no matter what color they are. You can't call 'em cheap for doing something like that. And where is the trend you speak of THE Triton being the hip-hop machine? How would you know what they "read somewhere"? Shit, this is guitar center we're talking about too! Regrettably, the triton is probably the best synth they have (which is sickening)!

BTW, lot's of racist have black friends. Shit, my g/f is black and i'm racist as fuck, so...

I am white.

Anyways. I wouldn't be able to come up to something and play with it for hours in guitar center.

nah, they sell minimoogs and voyagers, and i'm pretty sure i caught a virus synth there once (can't remember the exact name). it's not exactly all casios and tacky workstations up in there.

by the by, many months back, i got this magazine from guitar center, and there was an article about some hip-hop producer and how he loved the korg triton and all of korg's products and blah blah blah (blatent endorsement). those black guys probably read something like that and got the impression that "oh mah gawd hey the triton will make me famous".

Get an esx and a smart media card + reader. Great machine. Smart media is discontinued but you can get them on ebay, There's one on ebay for $300 right now which is a killer deal, but the seller doesn't have great feedback. Endless possibilities.

Also the mc303 is horrible.

The es1 is fun and has the global delay which I miss on the esx (though you can have 3 delays if you want). BUt it has a lower sample rate, I think only 32k as opposed to the esx professional 44.1 k (cd quality).

Also one thing a lot of people overlook on the esx is that you can sample a whole pattern and load it into a stero part and then you have all your parts but one free again and can keep adding and adding to it. Also 4 outputs which i usually run my bass drum and bass synth out of the 3/4 slots on separate tracks in cubase which makes mixing a whole lot easier.

The synth section on the esx is awesome since you can use any sample you want as a waveform. And the ribbon controller/slider arp is very inspiring and just fun to play with.

Also if you slow down the tempo or speed it up it time stretches the whole pattern and has a really cool effect.

The only thing that doesn't really work is the auto bpm detection on the input.

If you buy it an an MX they are actually set up to controll each other and you can change the effects and pretty much everything else on the other electribe from the master. Fun indeed. Or you can change the midi channels so it wont change anything but you have more percussion parts and synth parts.

well then i guess my guitar center just sucks then. the coolest synth i've ever seen there was a Roland V-synth.

(Sorry for the thread hijack...)

Thanks hah :], but I already bought it. I bought a xD card and a adapter, and it came out fairly cheaper then expected. The ESX-1 costed around the high 300's, and I love it. :].
