songs that ruin albums

Recommended Posts

Putting too many remixes of Starfuckers on the Fragile Remix album ruins is for me. Charlie Clousers is awesome (the last track) but it was just too much starfuckers. If anything they should have left that song off that remix album (and off the fragile too). The fragile remix album has nothing on further down the spiral but the most recent nin remix album Ye346435ar ze456356ro re9580719851234d or whatever is not even worth mentioning in this thread. Except the faint remix is lol and kinda fun. Nevermind ugh.

yes the quality of big man with a gun is debatable lol

BUT in the context of the album and the story it's very important as this track is right where the character reaches the peak of his evolution and then afterwards begins with his free fall down the "downward spiral".

one live version i have of this track is killer though (IMO) I'll upload it to youtube if anyone's interested

i read in an interview with TR back in the late 90s that if he could do TDS all over again he wouldn't put big man with a gun on it. he also said it was a parody of gangsta rap. i think lyrics aside the track fucking wails.

actually i think there needs to be a mashup of tori's me and a gun and NIN's big man with a gun

*tugs at collar awkwardly*

Yea, the reason why big man with a gun fails is because aside from trent telling us, there is no way of telling that it is a parody of rap lyrics. I agree that in general the concept of a sexually perverted person fits into the concept of the album, but the lyrics just make it laughable.

If I listen to an album I'll listen to it entirely. No skipping tracks, no wussing out. Some songs I hated are now my most beloved.

and sometimes an instant favourite will become boring later

amazing observation innit

i dunno, it's a pretty good song. it's definitely better than physical on broken in terms of cheesy lyrics (that is one of my choices. i have to skip that song almost every time i listen to broken).

also, tracks 7-9 on justice's cross can pretend they never existed. the last track too. fuck, half of the album is total shit.

same with what it feels like for a girl on madonna's album music. oh god. such a terrible song.

"physical" is an adam ant cover

i love that song

also I would say my only complaint about phil collins' greatest hits album is that it needs more phil collins
