You can convincingly emulate these and much more for less money, with a used Nord Modular. I feel the need to mention this to everyone purchasing these types of older synths.

The JX3P is a great synth. What it has over the Juno is two tunable oscillators. But it doesn't have a mono mode or portamento. Also, if you're running a midi sequence, you can't tweak the knobs on the PG-200. You'd have to solder a mod to get it to do that.

The JX wins.

Juno prices are inflated cos Nu Rave indie fashion fags got told by their brother's mate that a "Juno" is a good synth.

I dont want to do nu-rave!

That's why I said get the JX, Einstein.

i'd say the juno 106 personally but i'm into the awesome 80s sounds a lot. chorus!!

juno 6 though... mmmm! jesus himself plays one - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JeLuO6vZJ_g

[edit] - although i think there's a rackmount version of the JX3P which if you don't want the keyboard or are happy using another through midi might be a lot cheaper than the regular version. (i've no idea on prices but rackmount versions are usually less in demand and less pricy for the same sounds)

Yes the sound will be exactly the same as well as the experience using the synth.

Argh.

I'd go for the JX for more versatility.

Youll have knobs and keys and stuff. Plus a gilion other things to use. Plus it'll sound so much the same you won't even notice. Just mentioning because people spend tons of money on stuff then never do anything because its either too limited, too broken because of age, or both to end up being useful. Vintage is trendy and fashionable but also has some severe drawbacks.

Shut the fuck up about your pet subject for once in your fucking life you humourlesss droning cock. Not every thread needs to be jacked with ten paragraphs of your incessant off-topic bleating.

Go download some DDOS scripts or something.

Or go stand on a soapbox somewhere and see what happens when you act like this much of a cock in real life.

uhh that is a bit unwarrantedly harsh (and makes AW look like a grumpy 10 yr old) but nevertheless tftt you'd be as well jumping in every thread on here and telling everyone to just use the machine that they're writing their posts on to emulate synthesisers X Y and Z. the nord is purely digital (i think) so if you can do something on one of them then you can do it on yer PC (MAX/MSP, reaktor, Vaz, absynth, puredata, etc. - take your pick). trouble is that the synths referred to here are analogue, if you want something that sounds exactly like one of them then you have to use one of them, simple as that. i think everyone on here realises that they can do a rough approximation of lots of synths on a nord (or indeed their pc) but it's NOT THE SAME!

i have both at the moment and if i had to choose just one, i'd DEFINITELY go for juno-106

the jx-3p just sounds "not exactly the real thing". but then it might depend on what the real thing is for you.
