Fave tracks on Quaristice

So, been listening to Quaristice for a few days now and while some of it is hard to digest, there are some pretty outstanding tracks on it. Quite like the more ambient side to it...

Altibzz may be my favourite at the moment. Amazing tune.

 

Also really loving.....

 

PLYPHON!!! Seriously cool track.

 

IO is great. Sonderemawe is cool, really bleak little track.

Simmm is great too, but i'd prefer if it didn't spazz out in the middle like it does, i don't get why they couldn't give us another dose of that great melody at the start.

 

Paralel Suns is awesome, really awe inspiring sounds. Funnily, i think the name really adds to it as well.....the image just makes the tune all the more powerful to me....reminds me of the shivers i got watching the intro of the transformers movie as a kid.

 

Tankakern and Rale rock...great stuff.

 

Theswere always give me a chuckle, rad little tune.

 

The second half of Chenc9 really gives me goosebumps, i hope that's one of the tracks they jam out on the special edition. I miss the little ambient notes that they threw in to that part at 26:11 in the Hemsby set.

 

Notwo is seriously powerful stuff. Listening to that as you are starting to fall asleep with cans on is amazing. Very intense track, almost like the full extent of a catastrophe being realised.

 

I think this is a really cool album, and i'm glad that i'm getting more and more in to it. The idea that there is another 68 mins on the way and hopefully some bootlegs is just mind blowing.

 

AND :21 to :28 in Plyphon is the business!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly... but there's still hope with the Quaristice bonus disc... an extended simmm re-edit would be great... also tankakern and io could benefit from an extension! Thanks :)

Altibzz is a great opening track too. Something about the tracks that Autechre pick to opening and close albums that's so damn right!

Simmm and Fol3 are classics already I would say. Outh9x is also amazing. The favorites are sure to change when I get stoned and throw it on.

rale is tops for me.

 

and if these 6 tracks plus maybe a few others were longer then i think Quaristice would be a stronger album for me. it's really good but i'm finding some of the tracks extremely disposable. i've actually been hitting the next track button quite a bit on Quaristice.

 

i'm actually looking forward the special edition CD tracks... i will have it in a matter of days.

It's easier to count the few tracks I don't much care for. they are:

 

the Plc (too meandering; laughing samples are cheesy)

steels (wank)

fol3 (not terrible, just too long and irritating if not in the mood)

fwze (needs a melody; feels unfinished)

bnc castl (ditto)

 

 

and chances are, these will probably grow on me with time (with the possible exception of steels, cause damn, I have been trying).

Funny, would you hear them as laughing samples? I just kinda heard it as a random syllable plucked out and the pitched fucked around with.

fuck that... that's what got my head all noddin... so far i'm down with simmm... oi gets cool when that melody goes away and the beats and sounds go buckwild!

but seriously there is no weak track for me, the whole album is outstanding (especially when you listen to it from altibzz to outh9x
