I think it's gonna be Tigh's Wife who he killed?

so psyched for this to finally start.

i'm also psyched for the last season. it will be full of awesome! that cast photo is great. dunno about who could be the fifth, but i have a feeling it's going to be a complete curveball once we find out. i'm pretty sure it's not starbuck or any of the adamas.

Helo? Natalie seems to be pointing accusingly in his direction in the pic up top.

apparently the drone/centurian cylons become sentient this season (the "human" models originally put programming that wouldn't allow this, but it fails or is sabotaged), and they learn about the final 5 being on Galactica and refuse to fight as it may harm some of their kind, creating a civil war of sorts between the cylons?

this is what I have seen in speculation around the googlewebs not sure if accurate

I have never watched this show. Is it any good?

I did watch the original series though. Loved that.

it's very good. imo, best scifi show ever and even just tv show. not as silly as the old BSG, so don't expect anything like that.

start with the mini-series and see how you like it and then go through the seasons.

i'm counting down the days until the premier. i'm sad my favorite show is ending, but i know the final season is going to be amazingly awesome and they're going to pull out all the stops, so its a little bittersweet.

as for who the final cylon is...hard to say, we don't even really know what the final 5 are in the grand scheme of things. obviously its not baltar as he didn't hear the music when tigh was hearing it in the courtroom. same with both adamas and roslin. i've always suspected there's something up with gaeta, but i don't know if it'll be him...he might have been in the courtroom too (can't remember, i know he testified, but don't know if he was there when tigh was). don't think its starbuck either, she's something else (i've thought ever since season 1 when they hit the tillium asteroid that starbuck is actually the dying leader, not roslin, but we'll see about that...kinda brings new meaning to the term though. hah).

i have a feeling things are going to be very different than what everyone is expecting to happen. i have my theories, but they're much too grandiose to get into at the moment and i don't think anyone would be that interested, since its all just wild speculation. if it plays out the way i think its going to, i don't know how they're going to cram it all into one season. if anybody can do it, its them though. they pack so much into each episode its ridiculous.

definitely check it out. start with the miniseries and then watch the first 2 episodes of season 1. you should be sufficiently hooked by that point. if you're still iffy, ride it out at least until the season 1 finale. if that doesn't get you obsessed, then just turn back because the show is obviously not for you.

if you liked the original, you're in for a huge shock because its much different. some of the story elements and general ideas are the same, but this is no episode of the week, campy muppet excuse for merchandising, its the real deal. if you're any kind of sci-fi geek at all, this is the show you've always dreamed about. and its made all the better by the fact that they pull it off flawlessly (well, there are a few flaws in there, but in the grand scheme they're minor). great writing, GREAT acting (seriously, the cast is crazy good), mind-blowing action, hot girls (and guys too, if you're into that), real drama, deep emotions. most importantly, it doesn't dumb itself down to appeal to the lowest common denominator like most other shows. warning though, once you watch this show, it will raise the bar for television so high that you might not be able to watch mediocre tv again.

did i sell that well enough? i always feel like i have to really sell the show to people or else they wont watch it. its weird, people just wont give it a chance. they laugh when i say the name like its some kind of joke. no joke, dude...its just a great show. i feel like if people just watched it and gave it a chance they'd love it, even if they're not particularly into sci-fi. it transcends the genre, i think.

I recall catching a bit of it one time channel-hopping, and I was mystified at the lack of what seemed to be sci-fi elements (spaceships flying, aliens, etc.). Almost didn't seem like a sci-fi show. I changed the channel.

I'll give the mini series DVD a whirl, and see what happens.

yea, its the complete opposite of something like babylon 5 or star trek in that respect. no aliens in bad make up or prosthetics, they play it totally realistic. its just humans and cylons. there's mythology and mysticism, but its not silly like those things tend to get in sci-fi shows. but don't fear, there is plenty of spaceships flying, battling, blowing up, plenty of beautiful space shots and weird alien technology, it just blends so seamlessly into the show that it just feels natural.

yeah

(and is that promo pic supposed to be the last supper? lol)

just watched the 8 minute video thing ... fucking lol, that was really well-edited

though it doesn't really get across the high quality of the show; actually the plot sounds kind of cheesy when you compress it into eight minutes.

Joyrex: you definitely want to check this out. I've only watched the first 2 seasons (and miniseries) gotta watch Season 3 and Razor next...I'm stoked stoked.

It's almost as good as Deadwood.

although i love this show, newcommers should be aware it takes a while (like several seasons) to develop. it does string you along, but not nearly on the scale of Lost or Heroes, so be warned.

Not to drag down what is clearly a "love" thread, but this is exactly what I did - I don't think the miniseries and first couple of subsequent episodes are a good indicator for the show as a whole. I thought the miniseries was fantastic and I liked the first couple of episodes too. I think you need a few seasons of the show under your belt to know if you like it or not.

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

-organized confused project

Just read in the NY times that "Caprica" a 2hr "mini series" a la "Razor" has been given the go-ahead and

is moving into production. (This instead of a full series as was previously rumored or is this to be a "test-pilot"?)

The Story-line will take place 50 years before the current series time-line.

I'll watch that.

oh yeah only two weeks til season 4

frak yeah!

holy shit, just watched ep one of season 3. that first five minutes of Kara eating dinner with Leoben than stabbing the fuck out him

before eating her steak. Damn that sexy.

i agree, but I have faith they will legitimize the shark jumping (answer all the WTFs that the last ep provoked)

with the final season.

god i hope so.

i have total faith that the 4th season will rock serious balls and be full of awesome. i will probably poo my pants when i watch the first episode of season four.

i'm totally psyched about season 4, obviously. i agree that the season finale seemed a little bit like shark jumping, but once i understood the implications, i didn't think so anymore.

as for caprica, it's a test pilot for an ongoing series as opposed to a psuedo-standalone movie like razor was. it takes place 50 years before the original cylon wars, i believe, not 50 years before the current timeline (which means its something like 90 years previous to the current timeline? don't quote me on that though, i could be wrong). it supposedly a political/family drama focusing on two families involved in the creation of the original cylons. one of the families is the adamas. sounds pretty awesome to me, despite being described as "dallas in space". i don't think we'll be seeing any big hair and shoulder pads though, thankfully.

who does everyone think the final cylon is going to be and why? i've got my ideas, but they're typically long-winded, so i'd like to hear what everybody else thinks before i go writing a novel.

what was so shark jumping the last episode? that they all heard the bob dylan song? that starbuck appeared back? wouldn't go as far to call it jumping the shark when this has clearly not been resolved. let the 4th season play out and then see if the show jumped the shark or not.
