Braintree
I had a lot of big stuff planned for this collaboration, but she moved before it really took off: Also, I've done a lot of recordings with these guys: http://soundcloud.com/pinebox Right now, I'm jamming with a couple friends. Haven't written any songs yet, but it will be good when we finally cross that bridge. Friendly Foil
Made musics with a buddy for about two years or so. We didn't really work on any tracks together, but albums instead. We agreed on a general idea for an album, and then we just made tracks until we had around 30-35 minutes of good musics. Does that count as a collab? Guest Hermann
Me and my friend tried to do something once. We were living in the same communal house and we thought it would be a good idea to start a musical project. We were wrong. This was before I´d even really started making things properly and had no real experience, and he´d never done anything either even though he was very musically talented.. So the problem was that it was very difficult to motivate ourselves to do anything, we´d always just end up sitting and doing nothing for a long time until we gave up and went out for a drink. We have nothing to show for it, other than a name: Alan and the Moose. That´s all :Þ ... but hopefully one day when we both have more experience we can collaborate again and REFORM ALAN AND THE MOOSE!! Guest Iain C
Dan C and I did an EP together for Project 168 under the name AAAAAAARGH!!! which was fun in a dumbcore/noise kind of way. I've made a few tracks with Gary C. Actually the three of us recorded a few mostly-analogue, jammy noise tracks as the Detuned Turks. Always good fun. Kind of regret selling most of my gear. Guest A/D
I am doing some kind of Mindless Self Indulgence style tracks with a vocalist in my neighborhood. Part of why I do it is because the collaboration is so awesome. We cover a Venn diagram of areas, he's really good at pop structure & hooks, I'm the technical/production side. We each write about half the music, and tend to be open to suggestions & respectful of the other's strong preferences. Anyway the tracks are turning out to be pretty fun. I also collab'd really well with Starkey a couple times, back in the day. We wrote a piece for modern dancers at school that I still really like. He carried a lot of it because he works really fast. This sounds like it could be really fun and interesting to listen to :) I´d love to hear it when it´s done! Shame it ended, I get the feeling you would´ve progressed a lot more if you had carried on would have been able to establish a really nice sound. I´m really liking A Light In The Attic, love that guitar and vibraphoney sound along with everything. That sound you had kind of reminds me of Massive Attack a bit :) which is by no means a bad thing in my books. ------------------------------------------ .. Also, after reading quite a few posts in this topic, I now realise that it would be very constructive for me to collaborate with someone who´s more experienced with the technical side of things, since I am more skilled in the instrumental and general musical side of things.. I don´t suppose this topic can become a sort of "find people to collaborate with" topic as well..? It would be really nice to collaborate with someone who´s got the technical skills (sounds like a job interview now).. if they would be willing to do something like that. I live in Iceland at the moment so I suppose it would be pretty hard to do, but it was just a thought :) Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/31646-collaborations/page/2/#findComment-1876654 Share on other sites
