yeah basefree did always sound like a total ae ripoff to me, and a poor one at that.

xyz not so much, but again I haven't actually listened to this track in at least a year. It is certainly different from the rest of their stuff. I seem to remember only liking the beginning part, and then growing quite bored with it after that.

OK, on the subject of "when new boc plz", they might be waiting to use a specific WARP catalog number.

All of their releases seem to have interesting numbers:

MHTRTC: WARP 55 (10th fibonacci number)

Twoism: WARP 70

Geogaddi: WARP 101

IABPOITC: Warp 144 (12th fibonacci, square number)

Campfire Headphase: Warp 123

TCH: WAP 200

So maybe their waiting for another interesting number to come up to release it on.

Now that the donkey can do a back-flip they will continue working on the album. priorities people! they will soon tour with the donkey and breed it to create a super race of acrobatic donkeys. But they wont stop there, no, they will soon get greedy and the donkeys will turn on them. But maybe this has already happened, and it's up to the donkeys to decide when the album will come out. No worries though, i hear the bros are coming up with a donkey overthrow operation already. soon, the movement will be soon.

Maybe this year they'll try and stretch for WARP610. It sounds like "Sixtyten", and 610 is a fibonacci number.

Or perhaps they'll just go for it and reserve "WARPSIXTYTEN"

there was a good long period between the release of mhtrtc and geo, i dont know why everyone is getting their knickers in a twist about a new album and when its coming out as we have been made to wait longer in the past, plus the transcanada highway ep came out in 2006 a mere 1/2 years ago. p.s TCH kicked ass hope they continue in that direction

i read on here somewhere that "in an interview they are going for a more electronic/less guitary album to avoid people releasing believable fakes" or something like that.

but at the end of the day you can never rely on any information on boards of canada. so im just gonna rest the idea of a new release. if it comes, it comes. if not....oh well....

that's absurd. it was a joke, what he said in the interview. as if their motivation for making music the way they do is so that folks can't make believable fakes. completely absurd.

besides, it doesn't make any difference how the album actually sounds when it comes out. if the real thing sounded like venetian snares, fake guitary tracks would still be just as believable.
