warp mailbot excerpt:

Flying Lotus' debut Warp album 'Los Angeles' has landed in the Warp office!

This album has serious depth... an exploration into sound and detail which will suck you in and hold you down. We're not selfish, so here's a few tracks online for you to peep.

lol@waveform being total blocks. hope this isn't the case with the real thing, but considering the latest clark was compressed to a shitbrick, this might be too. sad. music sounded ok. nothing special.

That's what I was thinking. If you check out old albums from the early '90s on bleep.com, they don't look like that. They actually have some dynamics.

Sad indeed if all releases now are compressed to the point of being squashed to shit.

I saw on live, he was great... and from all the new signing (like, after clark) I think he's the one with the most potential... I just hope he's gonna push it forward, and make a great album, not an average one... (and please do do any guest vocals, or do a double cd, with the instrumentals, just like pinch did)

Autechre was...Quaristice is really great but it's far from Tri Repetae, LP5 or Confield...I feel like Flying Lotus can do to instrumental hip hop what Autechre did to techno 10 years ago...

actually, I really like it; There are great tracks in it (Parisian Goldfish, GNG BNG, RobertaFlack, Testament, Breathe . Something/Stellar Star, Infinitum, Comet Course, Melt!,...) but the sounds are pretty similar through the album and that's disappointing when you know how versatile this guy can be...

(Camel seems like a very slowed down version of Parisian Goldfish for example, but both are very good)
