That's what I was thinking. If you check out old albums from the early '90s on bleep.com, they don't look like that. They actually have some dynamics. Sad indeed if all releases now are compressed to the point of being squashed to shit. beNito
I saw on live, he was great... and from all the new signing (like, after clark) I think he's the one with the most potential... I just hope he's gonna push it forward, and make a great album, not an average one... (and please do do any guest vocals, or do a double cd, with the instrumentals, just like pinch did) Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/32349-flying-lotus-los-angeles/#findComment-695396 Share on other sites

Autechre was...Quaristice is really great but it's far from Tri Repetae, LP5 or Confield...I feel like Flying Lotus can do to instrumental hip hop what Autechre did to techno 10 years ago... Guest mrx
I didn't like the ep that warp released last year, but this record is pretty decent so far. I definitely plan on picking it up when it comes out in june. Guest Glass Plate
holy shit "Gng Bng" is fucking awsome track! sounds just like an Add N to (x) track but with a bit more of a hip-hop flare. Guest Medha
actually, I really like it; There are great tracks in it (Parisian Goldfish, GNG BNG, RobertaFlack, Testament, Breathe . Something/Stellar Star, Infinitum, Comet Course, Melt!,...) but the sounds are pretty similar through the album and that's disappointing when you know how versatile this guy can be... (Camel seems like a very slowed down version of Parisian Goldfish for example, but both are very good) Edited April 25, 2008 by Medha Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/32349-flying-lotus-los-angeles/#findComment-714413 Share on other sites
Guest Medha
apparently, there will also be a "Los Angeles EP" out on 12th may...According to the first song on his myspace, it seems closer to what I was expecting from him...which is good Edited April 25, 2008 by Medha Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/32349-flying-lotus-los-angeles/#findComment-714418 Share on other sites
