beNito
So I guess that's the final cover, with the sticker and all.... As I said earlier, I really like this cover, it does really remind me of mezzanie from massive attack, which was like one of the best cover ever... About the flying lotus album, it's been a week I'm listening to it now, and I must say it's a really good alubm, but the tracks seem to be too much alike, apart from the first track ( BrainFeeder, what a great name) whcih is really great, all the other ones don't really stand out from one another... But this guy has a really good sound, and I just love that cover, so I'll buy the lp when it comes out in june... Dpek
Hmm, I like Melt! and GNG BNG. I think Los Angeles should be tested on big sound system. beNito
Anyone preordered the limited EP from warpmart ? I did, apparently there'll be 3 of those... I preoredered it mainly because there seems to be 2 or 3 tracks that are not on the upcomming ( but alreaday in your itunes library) album, and mostly because I'm just such a warp fanboy I love every limited thing they do, and I do love the artwork for this album/eps ( as I said before, it does remind me of the super great mezzanine album cover) I've been a bit disapointed by the album, but I'll wait to have it on a proper Lp to listen to it with full attention... But I think that out of this upcoming glitchy/grimmy/bleepy instrumental hip hop revival, Flying lotus seems to have the best album covers, but not the best music, I mean, I find Rustie and Hudson Mowake more original in their ways.... I'm suprised no one talks about them, Rustie's Cafe de Phresh is really great ( don't like the vocals, but you get the instrumentals as well on the EP) and Hudson Mowake's Oops is really awesome as well (listen to the "still on it" instrumental on bleep) I'm really looking forward his upcoming releases on warp (they signed him awhile ago).... Guest moo duck
i don't see anything in Rustie's or Hudson Mo's that can beat FlyLo yet, they are focused on the certain type of production while Ellison creates flow that has no need in 'glitchy greemy bloopsy hop' at all, although his sounddesign is more consistent. SQUIDLID
Rustie and Hudson fucking kill it in their own different ways, live they destroy the place, their Ooops/Cafe De Phresh launch night in London was heavy. This new Fly Lo's hella tasty too, I'm looking forward to the Brainfeeder festival immensely! If it's anywhere as loud as Autechre I may have to purchase some earplugs though...! Guest absolu
Interesting but unfortunately, very forgettable after one listen. I don't think I'll listen to this more than 5 times. Let's see..
