Autechre must be shitting themselves right now!

Wow! This is a catastrophe. Nice find, soundwave. I started this one at around 50% volume and by the end I kept turning it down just to survive. That one seriously hurt.

The dude gets an MD to load up gabber jungle breaks and a MnM to dial in trance preset chords... :omg:

I'm still yet to see a decent Octatrack demo.

It appears to me that most people are just buying it just because it's a bit pricey and exclusive being an Elektron. I mean would you buy something thats designed by these guys anymore....?

god that bummed me out when i heard about it ! been watching these guys since the sidstation in like 2003.

i've said it before, it's like polaroid. brilliant founder/inventor takes the company to success, but with his death comes a lack of direction, a bunch of products that recycle last year's products...

most of these were pretty good tbh, there's decent live players, cool synths, don't get the hate at all tbh

Yeah, I actually really liked a few of these. Some were legitimately terrible, but a few were actually really enjoyable, especially

. Many of them were no worse than some of the noise experiment filler on some RDJ or squarepusher albums. Also, I don't like trance, but I don't see the reason to hate on someone if that's the music they want to make either. All in all, these videos just show that even the shittiest music made on analog synths sounds 1000x more interseting than most music produced using vst synths on a computer, but maybe that's just me.

hahahah. OMG. That guy lives here. And does terrible tape shit. OMG. wow. I'm glad the rest of the world agrees with me, unlike the noise scene kiddies who want up on his old man dick since he's been around forever.

if you called them up on the phone i'm sure they'd vigorously disagree... but hansson, the "brain" behind monomachine/machinedrum/etc. died. it's like apple w/o steve jobs.

unfortunately it's the truth, except Steve Jobs isn't dead (yet)

In August 2007 Elektron CEO and co-founder Daniel Hansson died in an auto accident. [1]

The Elektron User community created a tribute for him: http://45tribute.com/

that's the compilation that has pretty good tracks from Milanese, Future Image (a wattmer), Autechre and even Autechre VS Venetian Snares

it's pretty remarkable to read their trajectory as a company making gear, i didn't realize they got basically a grant to start producing sid stations. And the jump in build quality and ingenuity from the Sid Station and Machinedrum is pretty amazing, how does a company go from making such a buggy limited product to something so solid, unique and impressive?
