The giant jellyfish is real. I saw that picture first in an Al Gore video (done after "An Inconvenient Truth"). He said that giant jellyfish are usually sighted around 5 times a year, but since the oceans have warmed up a bit, there are hundreds. There are so many that they clogged the water intakes of a Japanese nuclear reactor, which had to be temporarily shut down because of it.
