Guest PusillanimousRex
So they've been signed to author the soundtrack for the next film by the same director and creative team behind Tekkonkinkreet. Well, not much of a surprise... And not much to discuss. Yet. Still, bit of interesting news. Guest AOOproductions
Im not a fan of anime but the soundtrack was cool. So any new Plaid material is fine w/ me! Guest PusillanimousRex
I'm also not an animé fanatic, and I admit I was a bit ambivalent about Tekkon once I'd finally had the chance to watch it. Still, it was a worthwhile experience, and I'm pleased to have seen it, particularly after having memorized the music from months of listening. One complaint I did have about Tekkon is that several of the tracks were altered from their original forms in the feature - though I have no actual preference one way or the other as to which version, and there were also a number of shorter tracks in the film that could have easily fit on the CD but that were unfortunately omitted. It seems the goal was to make the OST as much of an "album" as possible, so instead of the usual 20-some-two-minute-tracks type format that you would get with most soundtracks, we got a 13-track deal with 5-minutes average per track. Still and all, I am certainly looking forward to this. Any new material is also fine by me, particularly when it's a soundtrack, which is different by default than their usual output. Besides, Ed & Andy do seem to work best under pressure and constraints. o00o
I have the impression they have new ideas when working for soundtracks and do things that expand the normal "album plaid sound" so this is great news Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide o00o's signature Hide all signatures Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/32893-new-soundtrack/#findComment-703467 Share on other sites

Guest Ataraxia
PROTIP: You can get it through the iTunes Music Store if you change your country to Japan, make a new account, and gift it to yourself. You may need PayPal, too. :\ Either way, glad to know the torrent's working. :D Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/32893-new-soundtrack/#findComment-903806 Share on other sites

Guest sirch
im really into 'Host' and 'Tokyo Drive', too... oh and 'Takeshita Street'... I very much doubt I won't like the entire album somehow. 'Veisalgia' is also cracking. Guest sirch
'Orchard' sounds to me a bit like a heavier version of the track 'Lazybeams', from their 2002 Peel session. It's the guitar bit at 1:14 that does it.. it was reminding me of something else then I realised, "it's Lazybeams!" Or is it just me? lol :) Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/32893-new-soundtrack/#findComment-904661 Share on other sites
