kanarie
iep said: i don't think this is a earthloop, doesn't sound like it at least. earth is always a steady 60hz (or 50hz in USA) hum, no ticks. That's right except i thought it's 60Hz in the USA and 50Hz in EU. Anywayz, i get loud noise bursts on my system when my fridge (which i guess is 20 yrs old) switches on and off. In my neighbour's system this effect would be even worse, that's probably the reason he moved out of the house, which gave my landlord the idea that he might sell the house, so he started "renovating" (i.e. breaking down the entire inside of the house and rebuilding it) with me and my roommate still living there. It kind of sucks. Anyway, i'm going slightly off topic.
