Autechre Autechre Live Reviews

With all the talk on here about there CD's over the years, how about we share our thoughts on Ae's live performances, for the benefit of those who have not seen them perform in front of a live crowd.

I witnessed Autechre with Rob Hall and SND in Birmingham about a month or so ago. If anybody gets the chance to see any artist perform live at the Custard Factory, do so. It's a stunning venue, really artistic, which was fitting as I found the AE crowd surprisingly Arty. Alot of them sought of stood there scratching there beards and looking as if they were anaylzing the music as it was pounding out. There were a few who were dancing like nutcases, including one guy who jumped on stage but overall I thought the crowd could have 'let go' a bit more.

As for the music, I have no complaints. It was entirely beat driven and physically exciting, the only slight criticism I would have is that they don't venture into there entire discography. I would have loved to of heard Pen Expers or V-Proc but they focused on there unreleased stuff and small snippets of there new album.

It lasted about an hour but overall a great experience, met some interesting people, Fabio from Torino, Chelsea from Cleveland and Alex from Tamworth. Not bad for 13 quid, would defo see them again.

Ya, because there are hardly any topics about their live shows. :undecided:

Well seen as though they tour whenever they release a new album there should be more live reviews instead of dozens of people repeating the last post about a track being awesome or summat.
