should i take this patch down?

no this ep7 one is ok, i think AE leaked it themselves

but the ones i just linked to are supposed to be secret. i took them down off my page, but its been so long since i did i figured id throw them back out there again.

Thank you so much!

BTW, bought your new cd. Great stuff.

so Ghostbusters III, you're Flourescent Gray? We received your CD at the radio station here, where I'm tech director / electronic music director. I didn't recognize the name, but remembered Record Label Records as the site that hacked the Autechre Max/MSP patches. Nice to see the new ones up - enjoying the explanation document too!

Now, if only someone could hack an Ae / Richard Devine SuperCollider patch. I'd be much more interested to look at that (plus I'd be able to understand it without having to read an explanation...)

It does seem similar, though, what Ae is doing in Max/MSP, to what I would have expected. Each instrument has a sequence with some random deviation, and the fundamental of the pad synth changes every phrase. What I find interesting is how the algorithm (according to the notes) has the sequences switch off one another regarding deviation. Interested to see how that's done.

is there anyway we can hear what these patches do?

the links on the rlr site are dead

(Bob Wilson) Sorry... you created that reality tunnel, you can find your way out... You built the Trap... you know the design better than anyone...sagatsfz3stage.jpg

damn i will get on that right away

the one i was trying to post to does a kind of a 4/4 techno ish song with a stuttering base drum and a generative evolvling structure. It sounds a lot like the sounds used on the Confield 2001 tour

downloaded the patches and max msp demo, can someone explain wtf im meant to do with it lol i opened a patch and its a load of boxes with random numbers and shit in all connected by lines :S

See the giant box in the upper left? Click it to turn the whole thing on. Then, use the horizontal slider on the lower right side to trigger different sections of the piece. That's about as basic as I can think to make it.

The truth is, if you don't have any experience at all working with electronic music or DSP, the patch is not going to make any sense. There's a decent text document explaining what's going on that's bundled with the patch, so try checking that out.

yea ive bee pissin about with the kick sounds and acid sounds in it, it doesnt look as confusing as i thought it would be, can someone tell me how they got the sounds in the first place?

did they make them from scratch in Max if so how?

did you make it all in Max? how did you make it

No...not entirely. I loaded a beat I made into the Max patch and jammed with it for about 15 minutes. I recorded the whole jam session through "Quick Record". I imported the .aiff Max recoded into Cubase and then added a Roland synth and some blips, etc.

Basically all the rhythm and the "acid" sounds are made with Max, but the falling/airy synth sound is from the Roland.

I've played around with Max a lot, but this is really the only way I know how to use the program. I use it as a random sound creation and manipulator tool. Figuring out how to automate it, much less not being able to actually see what you are doing on a timeline can be confusing.

ok how did you load the beat into it? what format does it have to be?

In the ae_fun_powmodn03 patch find the button labeled "replace". Once you click it, it will open up the finder, and you can select a short loop thats already on your harddrive. aif or wav is the best format to use.
