has anyone ever done a cover of this on the banjo?

if not why not goddammit.

to expand that, could see a version with banjo doing lead, and harmonium and an accomplished jazz drummer playing brushed snare, hihat, and ping-pong ball supplying backup. with maybe some marimbas for the end section.

damn that would be good.

someone phone bela fleck and those jazzband aphex guys or something.

anyway, i really love drane2. stone cold fucking classic autechres

i'll try it someday, when i don't have 542 projects going at once. i'll have to buy a banjo though i guess. or get my dad to record a banjo line for it. hmm.

i *am* planning on recording an ep of band-style covers of electronic music tracks, so it may even happen pretty soon.

is it ok if i use a melodica instead of a harmonium?

At first I though we were talking about drane (drone) from Peel Session. Try that on the banjo while yer at it!

Both classic autechre trax!

  • 4 years later...

Fretless bass playing harmonics in chords along to the melody and maybe doing some delayed notes along to the rhythm / root notes, synth player for melody obviously, and a drummer with snare, bass drum, hi hat and ride cymbal doing beats and a Jamaican steel drum player would be awesome as counter melody.
