The point is simply that, as I originally stated, that Renoise is more accurate when rendering to wav. I said 4 posts back that sure you can get great sounding results out of Buzz, but since my original statement of Renoise's superior audio engine was challenged, I supported my statement. You basically can't render to wav more acurately than Arguru's sync in Renoise.

Going back to this point, as I said those visual comparisons were biased by what they were using. I've just used that tamborine.wav and ran it through a different tracker in Buzz and this is the result:

As you can see, the aliasing is basically non existent and equally comparable to the Renoise example. Plus this is a realtime recording rather than an offline render.

And the sine wave test using the latest XS-1 in Buzz:

again, fuck-all aliasing.

maybe someone remember who's the programmer..

also,TFTT,do you think that Aldrin could work on Hardy even if the latest release is for Gutsy?

I would imagine that it would be fine, but I haven't tried it. Little things screw the weirdest shit up.

I believe "." should change the note to ----, but I can't remember Matilde specifically.

yeah, full stop will overwrite the highlighted note or parameter on any machine (either generator or effect)

like others said, you can use the "." key to delete a note without moving the following notes up, but that only deletes the column you have your cursor on.

i don't have a problem using the delete key to remove notes, and then using the insert key to insert a line / move everything down one line.

I really prefer how buzz has "sub-patterns" in comparison to Renoise, so I could set up a hi hat pattern or a melody and not have to worry about copying and pasting it over and over. I think it makes too much sense however, because now I have a real hard time working in regular patterns.

i was just browsing this thread again, and it occured to me that i've even wanted sub-sub-patterns. i had this image of a song going off into recursively smaller chunks. the fatboy slim copy + paste archetype!!

i'd be interested in working with a sequencer that had something like "pattern manipulators" e.g. like let me apply a dynamics envelope to an entire pattern... or any other thing you can imagine.

i think i need to get off my ass and learn how to do more in max/msp than fuck around.

I don't think I quite follow. I mean you can run most things through anything, so it's probably possible but I'm not too clear on what you're getting at.

Um I dunno. Have you got regular old buzz installed (if not do that first !) ?

Then rename the old buzz.exe to something like buzz.exe.old (so you can easily switch back later to the old Buzz if you so wish)

Then download either:

http://jeskola.net/buzz/beta/files/buzz.exe or

http://jeskola.net/buzz/beta/files/buzz_no_sse2.exe (depending on how new fangled your CPU is, if its from the last 3 or for years go for the regular buzz.exe)

and put it into your buzz folder and you should be able to just run it as normal....
