it was very similar to the book. ambiguity posing as meaning. anyway bee sucks, i've decided, after switching between liking and hating him for a long time. he just keeps writing the same shit, over and over and over again. same style, run on sentences mixed with very precise descriptions and detached, nihilistic dialogue. obvious moralizing, non existent characters. glamorama is probably his best book but even that got boring and the characters aren't even remotely interesting. the only saving grace of any of his books is the occasional extremely well written passage, but it's pure style over substance.

Mila Kunis & William Shatner in American Psycho 2 ftw... just caught that shit on cable a month or so ago... didn't know that shit even existed...

EDIT: It really is not good but I watched it all the way through, do to my desire of "having" Ms. Kunis.

yeah, that's mostly where i'm at, though i think i like his stuff a little bit more than you do. with novels and films it seems like "pure style" is often interesting enough for me; i don't necessarily need content, even though most of the time i feel that content is very important. it's odd

I'm pretty sure the whole "Les Mis" repetition is, outside of a great period detail, in there for the sake of irony since it was a rampantly popular production about impoverished French denizens put on for the enjoyment of wealthy New Yorkers.

i like bee compared to jay mcinterney.. i only read JM's brightlights, big city because it was meant to be ground breaking and all that mid 80's bratpak bullshit..BLBC was a nice read, but i read it after reading glamorama and it didnt come close in my expectations... i have LTZ too which i can never start.

i still have 1/3 or the road to finish too :|
