only 3 on the ep? seems a shame as most are great in their own right. will need to give them all another good listen today in order to whittle down to my fav 3. (well, my fave 2...every good politician votes for himself! now where's gump...)

 

some great results from these retropublik comps - props to all involved at retro towers.

I should have done one, sorry Darren for being so bloody lazy and generally unaware of whatever is going on around me.

going through these at the moment, really high quality stuff so far, well done to all who took part! ill vote later.

Max Marlowe or Tauboo for me, although I fucked up my vote count by only selecting one. Slap

was close run between my usual fav ekt suspects.

 

but squee popped into the running with that something different...first time ive heard his stuff..really dig it.

 

i still think there should be more than 3...seems a waste of some great output. could have picked 5 or 6 really good tracks from that lot.

Darren, don't get me wrong... but i want you all to stop wailing about this. i wanted a competition and i said we have a deadline...and we put out 3 remixes.

 

ok... now that a lot of people cared about this one we can now say "OH we've put out every remix of mosca - lets do this here too" ... nobody said anything on that remixes. if you really care about the number of remixes... then don't vote for me... its a vote here...and if you want it really clear... i did them all 3 to raise the level of interest... i dont want to put my track here...

when i say here ... please make a vote of 3 ...its YOUR decision to VOTE for 3... its not even DONE finally. i really care about a competition, but when i say lets vote the best 6 - just because i know there are 6 good ones and 4 lame... then we dont have a competition anymore...and we will get 6x 90%-100% ....

 

so. don't be angry or somewhat. i said a stop-date. and i did say how many tracks possibly will go out. STOP wailing! we have all the possibility to load these tracks down. they are all here. GET them if you like them.

max - i just reckoned 3 was a bit tight for the wealth of responses, since you never mentioned this would be the case until after the comp was closed. seeing the large number of entrants, i'd have been more inclined to include 4 or 5. but just a view, that is all.

i wanted chloroplastic to do one also...and in fact i gave it the long way for ~ism. i am sad i have no chloroplastic remix now. shall i wait 3 months ? "york" is a track of 2005. i really have shitloads of work with retropublik right now... and believe me - there are REAL problems i do have additionally (in real life). and still i want to bring you all up with the retropublik. when the project168 gives a planning of 6 weeks ahead and lets people in what give the tracks after its done - its not my cup of coffee - and i really didnt like to say this... its not my beer. i dont even disagree on human decisions - but i feel like the project168 is a total different thing like what retropublik is aiming at.

if i want a competition to give a feeling of how we aim our targets then - you will agree on this - i cannot say... "oh wow... i said we make a competition - but now ...oh yes... 10 is a nice number".

 

ok. my ideas are not obvious... but you guys don't care about PM abviously too. PLUS its not even put out. i did not say anything here how many i REALLY put out. its up to you to give 3 votes.

 

i mean if you all feel like you are doing better... please... next time you arrange one .... i may choose to remind on remix competitions of project168 v2... or other trials of remixes... like lets say the "me" remixes... where new city 16 said to make one within 4 weeks. now we just have a

WONDERFUL piece of remix from chloroplastic on "me" , but don't have him here on new city 16, but we have all the people on new city 16.. ... what if 100 people were involved ??

 

guys. if you want to change places - tell me. i am up for it. show me your intentions... and give the chair to another one. but don't tell me i have made 3 remixes of someone within a deadline for wrong, because i don't want to accept someone out of timeline or the rules i was giving in.

 

why do you wail now ??? ~ism was the ONLY!! one that said some words in the first thread. sorry that you are all disappointed now - but if you'd opened up your mouth earlier... that would have changed something then BEFORE this thread.

Oh and besides one additional rule:

 

if you submit a track,

you HAVE TO vote, otherwise votes on you wont count

see. i wanted to give a 4th track as extra. as a bonus for some sad people then. the remix release will be not the soonest, and still we are working hard on the code of the site for the artist logins. there will be a lot of easy things for us all. its meant to work for the next 2 or 3 years. possibly longer. but thats why we have a delay on some other releases also... so we would have the poll here... and if i then have had released 4 tracks...that would be a totally other situation.

 

but guys... i mean i did really every efford i could for giving the project 168 a good go. i also pumped my guys that they do all their efford too... but before i had some suggestions made public to someone else... i'd preferred a private way. and you ALL know some of those ways here.

 

that's what i am sad about. i give everything for you... and you are pissing public on my shoes. sorry. i don't feel very well with that.

I don't know if it's your english letting you down here, and I'm sorry my german is non-existent otherwise I'd express myself better in your own native tongue, but I really think you are mis-interpreting what is being said. We all appreciate your efforts and your input with regards to EKT and your work at Retro - I just think you take some opinion and often some general crtique the wrong way.

 

All that was suggested was that it seemed a shame to only have 3 on ep. I apologise for insinuating that this was a recent decision - I see by your post above that this was outlined back in Jan 2nd - so sorry for that. My mistake.

 

Bottom line - nobody is pissing in your shoes and nobody is falling out with you - just some general forum discussion - that's what happens here...it's what watmm is all about.

 

So dry your eyes and stop blowing one liners out of all proportion with ripostes that are barely legible english.
