Aphex Who? They have taken the spirit away from Dance music and turned it into something "Panic and/or somtehing else at the Disco" would be proud of. House music is a feeling and this hasn't got it. Electronic/dance music is designed to be an uplifting experiance that allows you to move your body and want to Dance. This makes me want to crawl up into a ball and not make contact with the outside world, which is what most of thier fans do. Its hardly experimental more something with no direction and even less of an appeal to listen to. You shouldn't hve to listen to somthing to get used to it you should love the first time you hear it and that should never go away.

One reviewer put it most succinctly when he hailed it as "quite good".

I think it was mentioned here before, but the guy saying that 54 cymru beats could have been made in 1994 by Squarepusher is such a dumb statement it makes me laugh. When I read that the critics respect went right out the fucken window!

richard d. james must have had a good laugh out this albums' controversy. if you really know his work, you've probably come to understand his two greatest motivations: getting rich and satisfying his artistic taste. after he got the money and the attention he wanted (and that was long before drukqs came out), he was free to release whatever music pleased him. like any genius or actual artist, he does it for himself. but you guys seem to be having a fun discussion, eh? i bet he's knocked himself out reading critics' reviews and fans' comments. but there's one point you guys missed that is quite obvious if you listen to the double cd with attention. those who say it's a collection of unreleased material should notice that there is one recurring melody in the entire album. not two, three, or thirty melodies. it's a single line that is repeated and detuned and suffers many variations, but is present on a bunch of tracks here. vordhosbn, omgyjya switch7, bbydhyonchord, cock-ver10, mt saint michel mix + saint michael's mount, meltphace 6, ruglen holon, afx237 v7, ziggomatic v17, these are the most obvious tracks with that melody i'm talking about. some other ones are more obscure in their variations. listen carefully. you'll see it's a very tight, integral work in terms of harmony and rythm. holds the same feeling through. rdj opts for semi-tones and detuned lines in practically every song, including the "classical" pieces. this album is both pink and green. try and hear the melody and the colors. bai bai
