It's not what you expect from a Lynch movie at all. Based on a true story. No surreal stuff. Warm. Mellow. Hell, it's even distributed by Disney Pictures. Kinda surprised when I found that Disney distributed a Lynch film. Maybe to create such a surreal fact was his plan all along meta

David Lynch gives me hope that like people who watch westerns on some subconscious level don't watch it for the PLOT or the action etc. but take some strange comfort or whatever in the washed-out graininess of it all I mean for christs sake this

and people actually like Nickelback for the strange compression/production or the universe old reggae songs take place in

 

I don't think I've watched a full movie of his though so ymmv

 

but seriously I'm the kind of person where I can barely watch TV anymore. The old shows are just so overbearing with the greyness or whatever and the new shows are ridiculous ORANGE people shows and all the movies are gold and teal to distinguish them and make you feel good because you aren't watching TV. So I like anyone at least in principle who wants to subvert that shit or make a movie that is as un-straightforward as possible or something. If you arrange crappy old Geocities sites in the right way it spells out the true name of god and whatnot

 

also like normal movies if you could hear pictures try to resonate at a certain frequency while david lynch frames create binaural beats or something

I don't watch much movies/TV anymore to begin with. It's not like I'm skipping Inland Empire in favor of Transformers 423, I spend most of my free time making shit not watching other people's shit. I'd say his movies are in the top 5 of movies I'd watch if I get the patience to sit still 2-3 hours

Just watch a movie of his, jeez, it'll just be 2-3 hours. Eraserhead isn't even 2 hours long.
