i suppose you either love them or hate them.. although how you couldnt like something like "hot on the heels of love" or "united" is beyond me..

id really love to see one of their us shows.. chicago is the closest but its just not feasable for me to go there. money would be required and i have none.

i have a good friend who's going to the show tonight . . if you see a tall punk-looking girl with alex gray tattoos, tell her abe said hi! and then get to know her, she is awesome.

i hope it's a good show! report back please.

hey, the girl you described was just about every other person there.

The show was cool.

The first hour was the band performing a live score for Derek Jarman's "In the Shadow of the Sun". That was my favorite part of the show.

The next hour and a half, the band sat down and signed autographs. No kidding.

The following hour was projector art with a loud repetitive note synced to 3 projectors.

Then, the band played for about another hour - hour and a half.

They played about 7 or 8 songs. The only 2 I recognized were Discipline and Hamburger Lady.

It was a cool show, but they are all so old.

The bass and sound was top notch. The lighting was terrible. The house lights were on the whole time and people kept yelling to turn the lights down. At several points, Genesis gestured to someone offstage to turn down the lights, following which, some idiot turned down the key lights on the band.

The only song that was somewhat energetic was Discipline (energetic meaning Genesis took the mic off the stand).

Truthfully, I'm happy I got my ticket for free. I don't think I would have ever paid $100 to go see them.

I also got them to sign my ticket... which is pretty cool.

ps

Here is a cool, recent interview with Genesis on the VBS series "Soft Focus"

I did a video for a film and video making class with Hamburger Lady as soundtrack, it was a huge hit!

throbbing gristle isn't a good conversational piece when you want to fap!

word! it has the same effect as Kraftwerk "Electric cafe" when knocking boots. I had that in the disc changer once, whilst getting busy and when it switched over to Electric Cafe , it seriously side railed the whole situation.

I'd advise keeping TG out of boot knocking playlists, unless you've ball gagged some goth chic and you've neatly placed your nuts on her forehead and unfurled your schlong down the bridge of her nose.

we are doing a throbbing gristle after party for the show this thursday at a place 1 block away from the venue.

im not certain yet but the legendary rapper The Great White Hype MAY be doing a live freestyle rap intro to the afterparty about Throbbing Gristle's performance, knowing him its going to be a hilarious shit talking rap session mostly directed at GPO himself

you can hear some of his TG raps on his myspace page http://www.myspace.com/tggwh

anybody here a fan of Psychic TV? Im not really but their first two albums i find really enjoyable

'Dreams Less Sweat' to me feels more like a really high quality new Throbbing Gristle album in comparison to the rest of PTV's catalog.

im surprised i rarely see 'jack the tab' mentioned here especially because of the acid resurgance

Peter Christopherson is (or was, i don't know) a member of TG, which is the main connection between the two
