After a second listen, I conclude this album is wonderful.

after a couple listens i'm still convinced stone in focus is more 'rich' than any track on the black sea. Maybe that goes without saying. i still haven't made a context for the new fennesz, yet.

i played the album (loudly), over and over this morning to 'mask' an excessively late night drunken birthday dance party taking place in my house. it made for some surprisingly affecting juxtapositions with the various high-energy dance music selections going on in the other room. no sleep though
