i remember reading somewhere they said gas has been a big influence on them, and that the next album would be the most experimental thing they've ever done.

Yeah someone on Collected Animals spoke to Geologist about what's next, and he said it's their most experimental stuff so far.

It's a "visual album" that they've been talking about for ages. A collaboration with a guy named Danny Perez I think. He did the Who Could Win a Rabbit music video and maybe Peacebone... I can't rememeber exactly. Anyway... they're sorta doing an album length music video of some sort, I think they said they might be involved in the film side too, inputting ideas, and the director will have input into the sound... so that sounds interesting.

But Geologist also said he knows nothing about what's going on with that :P sounds pretty disorganised...

There was a half hour set with Avey, Deakin, and Kria Brekken playing what were apparently working pieces for this visual album. They're very nice, really atmospheric.

Probably... it doesn't say where it was on the file but as far as I'm aware there was only one Avey/Deakin/Kria set ever played...

this album is trully great, I really loved person pitch by panda bear, and sung tongs by animal collective, but I never really managed to get into most of their albums, I just liked a couple of tracks on each of them.

But this one, man it's good.

They really nailed it, it's original, fresh, joyfull, it's really just great, it might take a couple of days to get used to it for some people, but it's really great, I love it.

Congrats to them, I'll make sure I'll buy the LP when it will be avaible in france.

have you ever heard that Jane album? was an AC side project, also sounds Gas influenced to me.

love "my girls". not sure if I love the rest so much, but then, not the biggest AC fan. but check the Jane album, it's good.

I finally listened to this today (it came in the mail a few days late.... all my friends already had theirs and I was grumpy).

My overall opinion is that it's just as god as the last two, but a bit more samey (although cohesive is probably a more appropriate word). I like how Feels and Strawberry Jam (especially the later) are incredibly varied, but at the same time, it does make this feel like it all fits together better.

The production was way different to what I expected... more up front and noisey... I knew it'd be more dense than the live versions but I expected it to feel more poppy and a little bit ambient and reverby and distant (like Banshee Beat off Feels... but electronic).

I hadn't heard Lion in a Coma (or Bluish obviously) before so that was a nice surprise... it's awesome!

this is the only AC album i could get into. maybe it will help me revist their older stuff.

ZOMG! Lazerz pew pew pew!!!!11!!1!!!!1!oneone!shift+one!~!!!

I've been listening to this so much. Best fucking album of 2009. I'm calling it now.

By the way, anybody looking to "get into" AC now, I recommend starting with Sung Tongs. That album rocks.
