Today, i ordered Squarepushers Souvenir Vinyl, without the praised "syntax 2" bonus track...

If somebody would pm me the track which is nowhere to be found in the internet, i will post a link of a vid

(that some of you may know already thought i didnt found a topic in here..)

of what i think is very likely a glimpse of what is called "spectral musicians".

The track which cunningham is using is well known, i think its save to say its a "fan favourite".

In an interview on the Director File website about Chris' upcoming short, Rubber Johnny, he mentions that he is working on a collaborative project with Squarepusher. It is unknown if this is in reference to Spectral Musicians, an oft-delayed collaborative project between Chris, Aphex Twin and Squarepusher or if it is a separate project

This short film was commissioned in August 2001 at the dawn of Warp Films. Since then the proposed release date has been continuously pushed back. Meanwhile, Rubber Johnny was completed. Warp Films currently marks a 2005 release for Spectral Musicians, which, from what we can gather (this ain't official, folks), it's a collaboration with Squarepusher.

lFrom RES Sept/Oct 2002, Chris says: "I'm making a DVD album for Warp of film and music. There are going to be around 12 to 14 pieces. Three are collaborations with Aphex Twin and Squarepusher."

The album will likely include:

- Spectral Musicians, a short film commissioned August 2001.

- more polished versions of Monkey Drummer and the Drukqs trailer.

- assistance from one freelance animator named Angie Taylor.

I think this project is either dead or on indefinite hold...
