Drum Samples?

I'm looking for quality acoustic drum samples.

Not corny rock kits. more like vintage, jazz, breakbeat drums... preferably chopped into individual instrument samples.

Anybody know of any sources? They don't have to be free, but that would be even better.

i'm tempted to slag you off for being lazy and not doing it all yourself, but we've all been there. the shit is tedious. but still, i'm of the school that if possible, you should find, sample and chop your breaks yourself. otherwise it's not really yours, you know? dealing with sampled music is a very fine line for me, if you're just using the same sounds everybody else is using then what's the point? sample it with your equipment, using your ears...that's how you get the real shit. that's how some producers amen breaks sound different than others, giving them their own unique character.

i think it's something that's been slowly getting lost with the wealth of info available on the internet - the hunt, the ritual, the process, the discovery. i completely understand the desire to just have your sounds ready for you and jump right in, but you definitely lose something in the translation, i think.

that's just my 2 cents. i'm not gonna knock you because i've done the same thing in my day, but the truth is i've never been as happy with the results as when it was a break i found, sampled, eqd and chopped the way i wanted it. juss sayin...

man, i've chopped up so many breaks in my day... but what i'm looking for now is cleaner separated individual drum hits. I could use the same kick sample in 20 songs, and you'd never guess it was the same sample. so i don't really agree with your point about using the same sounds as everybody else.

i'm really really really really not interested in any amen breaks... i think there should be a law against using it. let's move on people. it's 2008, time to put the mid-late 90's DnB samples to bed please.

try ezdrummer, it's what i use for my post-rock tracks.

there are a lot of nice kits for it as well, check out the vintage rock kit and drumkit from hell. the only downside is you can't extract the samples.

a lot of these are way to "rock" for my taste. i'm looking for more hip hop friendly kits. DFH is for speed metal for fuck's sake lol ;)

thats so not true, someone in ylc has called me out on it before

i thought he was looking for individual hits? some of those links that i linked have 100's of mb in single hits..
