The Great YLC 2008 Winners

theres a difference between me not liking something and something being bad, to me. i dunno.

I don't know how I feel about that star rating system. That one track on this list is definitely liked by a majority of the people who have heard it, but personally I've posted much better stuff on YLC that never got the star rating.

Also, many comments on one post only tells you if a regular's tracks are good, if it's someone new who's music hasn't been heard by a lot of people, then obviously no one will give them more than a few minutes of time.

You should check out the EP that I posted that has that one track on it, IMO there are better songs on there. =P

The one thing from 2008 that I really wish I could hear is the docking compilation, I don't know if it's that they didn't get enough tracks or what, but I want to hear what everyone else did for that...

I honestly think a better rating system should be in place. That RDJ rip off you keep whining about could be good but it's not in there because it wasn't rated.

 

Perhaps mandatory rating if you want to listen to the track?.. I don't know but something needs to be done about it.

ah ... i see ... it got a 3 star rating . no doubt it would've got 5 or 6 or 7 but my sworn enemy Soothsayer got his lame dubstep gang to mess up the ranking with their 1 star voting tactics during our bitter war of words that spread itself over multiple threads.

If you want, spend some time looking around for better rating systems.. There's plenty out there.

I think the key here is that, while 4 or 5 stars may be good - it could only be one single vote. Ideally it should show how many people voted and then average it out.

This thread has prompted me to join the few who bother to post and rate tracks on a regular basis.

the star rating system is only used like 10% of the time

does Joshier realize how stupid of an idea it was to compile it based on this way

the more i read about Joshier's plans for this comp the more convinced i am

I think it should be based on downloads maybe.....but then someone could just download their own tracks loads I suppose....oh, I dunno....forget the whole fucking thing, it's stupid.
