8 or 9 or 10 or 11 years ago i was excited about pretty much every mu release. now, out of that massive list, i can see 1 (maybe 2) releases that i fancy

i think this is because we placed mu on a pedestal. we were young and naive and thought that if mu releases something, it must be good. slowly we are accepting the realization that this is not true, and even more, that almost everything you hear is shit. oh no, oh no, the mind wants to fight it. get away you scary monster you are bad! i dont understand you therefor i dont like you. basically we all thought mu was a brilliant entity which released only the utmost form of quality art, but we are slowly realizing that this is not the case, and that not only is mu bullshit, weve all been deceived. eventually we will all realize how shallow planet mu is, and how much it let us down as an already small and desperate music community. fail. if mu ever offers to sign me ill do it only for the publicity

i disagree. there used to be more interesting stuff on mu around the time of mealtime and cosmic forces of mu (both really good compilations) and there was less bland idm in the world to taint our views where as lately it's been kind of low com denom dubsteppy stuff and lots of breakcore nonsense before that and not much new and exciting happens anymore because nothing can ever be more new and exciting in electronic music than late 90s era afx/squarepusher (and unreleased ET tracks)

Obviously this is a bit tongue in cheek, but do things have to be brand new sounding to be exciting? If they hit the spot and they are good, then who cares? For example the Skream mix of Night Vision isn't groundbreaking stuff, but it's a fucking heavy tune. I think it's all a bit irrelavent to Mu anyway, half the stuff they're releasing is really forward thinking. Have you heard the new Jamie Vex'd stuff?

Anyway, without being too much of a fanboy, big up the Mu. It's the only record label I proper follow, checking out every release. In all of them I find something interesting at least, and I'd say at least 80% of their catalogue over the past few years I really dig. Plus Mike keeps pumping it out hardcore with zero compromise, keeping quality over tat. Fair play to the dude.

Same here.

Not interested in washed out junglists or dubstepper's dubstep.

I still lol at "Lasers n Shit"

leave it to a little blonde hottie to rule the acid landscape.

Oh, are we still carrying the illusion that Syntheme is a girl?

I wish Mike P would release something himself...

Agreed. IMO some artists on Mu have taken his template and vastly improved on them. Actually, some songs on Mrs. Jynx's "The Standoffish Cat" could've fit in Mike's "Duntisbourne Abbotts." Well at least those songs struck to me as more emotive than most of tracks in Duntisbourne. Come on Mike!

It's sitting on my shelf with a broken case and a broken heart. But it sucks so that's okay, nobody cares.

DASDT is probably one of the best examples of a "grower" i know of. i quite like a lot of the tracks.

the album as a whole is quite samey...and didn't really need to be 17 tracks long - but i think it is good.

I'm insanely excited about Variance.  That list says July!  Of course, that's before it gets delayed for another year.  I do believe he's working on it though.  Hell, just listen to "Aerodynamic" on the leaked version, and then the release on Sacred Symbols of Mu.

This is The Year of teh µ!!! For fuck's sake! When will people stop listening to their old records and artists and accept the fact that Mike P has amazing taste and you should never fucking question no matter if you like something on µ or not, I personally could care less about Syntheme, but I know it will be useful for djing at some point and for acid, even though I am tired of it, I dig her! style.....

You speak the truth man!

µZiq's taste is about 98% in line with mine....

Soothsayer introduced me to this label through him turning me onto Snares and I will forever be grateful....

even if Sooth doesn't dig the label as much as he did in the past....

I think he will after all the new DS comes out...

I know he digs the Starkey...

and I love the new design on the 12"s!

The samples I have listened to thus far have me more excited than I have been about any future releases in a long time...

duntisborne is mad emotive.

Own this record, love it, think it is one of his best....

a perfect example of a great musician being able to step outside of their own formula and yet still sound like themselves....

not an easy task...

thank you Mike P!
