Guest Hanratty
i thought it'd be nice to list AE tracks and their time signitures. (assuming it is not 4/4) I especially want to know the track Cichli from Chiastic Slide and Drone from Peel Sessions. My idea is to bring these tracks into Ableton and try to duplicate certain aspects of them. (Don't worry, I am not that skilled, it is just for learning and experimenting) Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/41557-ae-time-signatures/ Share on other sites
Guest Enter a new display name
I am sick of everybody thinking the last track from Peel Session (no "s") is titled Drone. It is Drane! Cichli is in 5/4 Drane is in 10/8, but I'm not sure... Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/41557-ae-time-signatures/#findComment-920035 Share on other sites

Guest Chogg
Nuane is in 4/4. I maintain that this business of slip being in 29/8 is also bullshit. Pule would be an interesting one to try to count, but I haven't. Most ae songs are not as metrically complicated as you probably think. It's all about the grouping of the beats. Guest Chogg
Sublimit is almost entirely in 4/4 except one section in the earlier half that is in 5/4. edit: not right at the beginning though. Root5
Just listened to Sublimit again At 3:23 the rhythm changes, but it remains in 4/4 (but with 3 bar phrases, so it gets pretty funky) At 3:40 it goes into 5/4 Then the meter is very unclear until around 6:50, when it is definitely in 4/4. BobDobalina
Gescom's Key Nell 2 is pretty cool - the track is in 4/4 but the mad beat that comes in around the halfway mark is a 7 beat pattern. It's funny in a way but I kinda liked this song more before I figured it out! For some reason I always thought Drane/Drone was the same deal (odd pattern over even time signature) but yep, it's 10/8. This in no way diminishes its awesomeness.
